Sometimes he is, and sometimes he isn't, that's the 'problem'. It's a 'problem' he shares with a lot of premier footballers, if, for example, Deulofeu was consistently good he'd be at Real. You bought him because he looked good at Juventus, but he looked better than he was at Juve because the italian league is ****ed and they have no serious rivals. You can have **** games for Juventus and no one really takes notice because they probably won anyway.
This talk of changing manager at this point is simply bonkers. Haven't we learnt anything from the experience of the last 6 years? Have you forgotten about I call the United curse: anyone good that comes to United instantly turns to cr*p Look at the managers we've had post Fergie: Moyes LVG Mourinho. Moyes very highly promising and regarded premiership manager. Promised a long time to get it right but sacked after 1 season. LVG and Mourinho highly experienced and dozens of trophies and titles. Yet they were not good enough were they? Their football was simply NOT United. Sacking Ole after one season is a sure way of keeping this drift going. Would the next manager suddenly put right the struggling club and team ? No. We have to hit bottom before we rise again. No doubt that the current first team is not recognisable as a United team. Even with the injuries to some key players. For once I am in agreement with Woodward (I can't believe I said that!), Ole deserves time to build something decent. The players he brought are not that bad. And he's prepared to give young talent a chance. The front are powder puff but martial is injured and Greenwood is very new. The midfield may need reinforcement but the defence is generally solid once we get the first choices back. We might need a new hungry young striker. We should all be prepared to miss top 6 snd let Ole complete his work.
We've seen this before, how someone from the club didn't see it reoccurring is staggering. David Moyes? Frank O Farrell Ryan Giggs? Wilf McGuiness Dave Sexton? LVG Tommy Docherty? Mourinho. We've played this whole shambles out before. Let's hope Ole plays the role of big Ron, wins couple of cups, and that the next manager will be the proper one in a year or two's time.
According to the papers the Glazers seem to be content for things to develop over a couple of seasons. The main concern (as always) is when Woodward sees on-field performances affect his beloved revenues - thankfully we have had another record year so he should be able to stay of Ole's back for a while.
The focus of the GGs and Woodward has been the profits and the dividends. There's now hardly any pressure to get into top 4 for financial reasons. The broadcast sponsorship and premiership revenues dwarf those given by UEFA. So Woodward and the GGs could and should let Ole get on with it and support him in his transfer dealings.
They need to allow a DoF to help him with this side of things and keep Woodward out of it. Van Der Sar has been mentioned, he'd be absolutely perfect for the role.
Definitely need a DOF. Am surprised and frustrated that Woodward is procrastinating. We are not in a good place at the moment. We desperately need a top striker. Our goals to shots ratio has got to improve. And with Pogba not 100% fit to create we are crawling along. But there are quite a few teams currently in so called transition too. Spurs got destroyed at their own home. Arsenal are not running smoothly and we could easily have beaten them this week were it not for a bad mistake at the back. Chelsea are not secure too. It is a game of fine margins and the line between glory and humiliation is thin
We threw away the chance to be in the CL this year as all those teams you mention didn't seem to want to be in it either. It's debateable whether it would have been a good thing to be in that comp though to be honest. This season though, that has to be the target. Only City and Liverpool are a level (at least) above us. Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal, Leicester aren't. We've no excuses.
An away game (see what I did there - 'away the lads' and all that bollocks). Ole can't feel under any pressure because every side in the PL is managing to lose these day, I don't think any team has won a game since the start of September. That being the case, we are fielding another dull, unexciting side - not including Fred who is proving to be worth every penny of the world-record fee that we paid for a ball-boy. Team news -
He might need to learn to cook, he can't play ****ing football - we don't need another Darren Fletcher, the first one was bad enough.
What a crap game. No invention, little skill and hunger on show - much the same as all our recent games. The only pluses were Tuanzebe and Maguire, both of whom are absolutely rock solid. On that showing I'd be more than happy for Lindelof to leave/sit on the bench. With a back four of Wan Bissaka, Tuanzebe, Maguire and Shaw (still not convinced, particularly as he doesn't play well when James plays on the left too) - we should be difficult to score against.. All the other ****ers were absolute ****e and don't deserve to wear the shirt. Can't wait for us to play Liverpool.
Ole needs to go. We have now reached rock bottom! I don't know what else needs to be seen to fervently spell this out. This is not just about 8 games, it has been this way since the adrenalin wore off in Feb It was Ole's responsibility to ensure the weaknesses in the squad were prioritized in the summer and put pressure on the club to get the players needed. Instead, we pinned our season on hopes rather than strategy after losing three key players. We are where we are due to horrible management. Yes, Woody is without a doubt guilty, but the manager is a co-conspirator.
Looking at the table we're five points off fourth place after eight games. It's nothing, we really should be able to click a bit and put a run together. The obvious problem is, that is not going to happen for Ole now. No chance, his cover is blown and he's just not got the experience or expertise for this job. This isn't hindsight, I said he shouldn't have been given the job when he was and if United had held off to the end of the season, he wouldn't have been given it on the basis of what happened after he was given it. There no point saying he's got **** squad and it's not his fault. There's a first eleven out of the squad he has that would challenge for third or fourth with a proper manager. If properly managed, the likes of Pogba, Matic and McTominay could form a midfield. We've a solid back five and, once they're fit (or not pretending to be injured) plenty of pace and ability to score goals up front. The ones who come in when that first choice eleven aren't all fit is the problem. Fred & Pereira are garbage, Dalot doesn't know what position he's supposed to be, Mata and Young are both sadly over the hill. What do we do though? Get rid now and roll the next available stooge in through the door or see the season out while carrying out a proper recruitment of the next manager? Not that I trust Woodward to do the last bit anyway.
Keep Ole and give him a minimum of two full seasons, we cant keep changing managers, ideas and players every two years
I've got no problem with Ole staying to the end of the season by the way, but no chance beyond that. As for always changing players, what Ole has done is buy well and get rid of some ****. Any new manager would simply have to do the same. I don't see any manager not being able use Maguire, James and Wan Bissaka. Ole could be allowed to buy a CM and loan a striker (Zlatan, even though he's just turned 38!) in January with minimal risk.
this is our worst run in long long history our problem is at front .. Martial has missed half of last season !! will be crazy to think he will be fit all year leaving only poor Rashford as only striker .. and tbh he is a winger more than a striker .. kind like Mane but without scoring goals yes board need to take share of blame for not replacing Lukaku and Sanchez .. but OLE need to take blame too .. his hard training method is causing those injuries.. but worst is his love of counter attacking and setting the team this way where we can only play that facing 5 teams of top6 !! what about rest 14 teams who will defend deep !?!! OLE vision is wrong and not fit to a club at scale of UTD he has to go .. I Said it before even when he was in good Run..Pochettino is more fit ,..... and now is best time to approach him .. he want to go .. and may be he can bring in kane with him
