James Hunter @JHunterChron Ross says he was 'embarrassed' by the performance today. Says he accepts that any time #safc lose, he and the players will get criticised, and says at times he has been defensive about it. But today, any criticism he or players get, they deserve it.
I dont go to away games anymore but I did think about our fans who seemingly had to endure Micky taking chants from the home support then make their way home through home support. Today is an embarrassing day for the club and the fans should not have to put up with it.
We are under starters orders for the Sack Jack race, Bally to step in till we beg borrow or steal Bowyer
Wasn't expecting that result. Read that it was worse than the Bolton game, so feel for the fans who travelled.
I dont disagree but if he built a successful football team it wouldnt have bothered me in terms of conection. A strange day...football wise probably one of the lowest days in our history....but if the the takeover happens in the next few days it could be the watershed moment.
WTF was that today? No cohesion at all and no focal point up front.. I’m struggling to think of anything positive about the manager..( being diplomatic) not good enough can’t see Ross seeing this out .. don’t ask who next I haven’t got a clue haway the takeover!
Yeah what I meant was that if he had taken the time to connect with the fans those fans maybe would have given him a bit more leeway. The fact that there is no connection and never has been means he’ll get very little sympathy from the fans.
Just got home. That was doggy doo. They were crap but we were crapper. The ref looked like a random fat bloke from a sitcom. What happened to de bock in the 2nd half, was he ethereal? Who decided to push CM forward, I know it was 2 and desperation at that point, but haway, he hasn't an attacking bone in his body, and as for you, you idiot. . .
All this talk about Ross. We have two losses. In those two losses Denver Hume didn't make the bench. Correlation, causation, coincidence - not sure, but a curiosity going forward. I am confident even Ross knew playing De Bock and McGeady on the same side at the same time was a bad idea.
Just been watching the Athletics Young fit men and women, busting a gut to win, devoting years of their lives with dedicated training to achieve. Then you watch a bunch of overpaid prima Donna's who cannot be asked to put a decent shift in... Hmmm I wonder why we football fans get angry
I have defended Jack Ross for months, convinced he could turn things around and get the results that we all crave, but I've now lost all faith in him and will be happy to see him go. His style of football is dull and uninspiring and his tactics and team shape do nothing to help our striker score goals. Wyke and Grigg both know how to score goals at this level, but they get so few opportunities because they are starved of service and look isolated all to often. So although it pains me to say it, because we've had so many managers in recent years, it's time for Jack to go.
The only thing that can rescue this weekend is half a dozen Man Utd goals ... ... what a sad state of affairs.
Just been watching the League 1 highlights on Quest Tv.... The majority of the goals from the games came from balls being lumped into an overloaded box and players scrapping for it! NOT from slow tippy tappy football ?!? Ross may think we are the Barcelona of League One and that he is a younger version of Pep Guardiola but we need a manager who realises what is required to get us out of this division. His style football is NEVER gonna work!! ....... NEVER !!!!!
I don't think there's a lot he could be doing differently in picking the team and the formation, after five at the back didn't work he's pretty much gone with what we all thought he should week on week. I didn't see anyone complaining about the team for this game before kick off or any other game beyond very minor differences of opinion. I've seen a lot of people say we should be using Grigg better and ideally we should but a) the man is utterly bereft of confidence and b) how exactly do we do that with the players we have? Seen a lot of criticism and very few suggestions beyond us playing like some kind of league one Barcelona. Wyke is **** although he tries. For me the big problem with Ross is that he doesn't seem to get us fired up, we're always lethargic compared to the opposition. When your players aren't very good and I don't believe ours are in the main that's what you need to drill into them and he isn't.
We have no mobility in that team. The opposition just have to run at us and we are goosed. When in possession if we get closed down quickly (which is most games) we are not quick enough to deal with it. When in possession we are slow and this gives the opposition time to get players behind the ball. This results in us not being able to break teams down. Lincolns second goal today is an example. If we were in that exact position we would not have had anyone running into the box looking to get in the end of a forward pass as it would have ended up going sideways, and our striker(s) not mobile enough to get into a scoring position. We knew what we were lacking at the end of last season and nothing has been done. We are actually a lot weaker than last season and the style of football is even worse.
Since then we've had about 50p to spend on transfers so it's hardly a shock that we haven't transformed the squad. Some of the free transfers like Willis and Lynch look decent.
the whole lot need to go and that includes Donald, laughing stock again this club is run by amatures. We should have walked this division last season and now we are frigging worse i am not paying £22 again this season unless things change.
Obviously a set back today. Can't help but think we just bring it on ourselves. In my opinion the best form of defense is to attack. Right from the first minute go after them and press them all over the pitch. There is a huge amount of energy in O'Nien and Dobson so play them together in the heart of the team. It was the same last season once you put Leadbitter, Catts at the time, McGeouch it just slows the tempo down. As I have mentioned before attitude reflects leadership and this is where we are wanting. Jack you have to do better mate or your gone. You have some ammunition in your ranks and if it was me I would be going balls for glory....I wouldn't want to out with a wimper....which is what is happening at the moment. Maybe I'm getting too old for the modern game but I keep thinking back to the 70's. One of the best games I ever seen was when we actually got beat. It was at Old Trafford the season after the cup final and we got beat 3 - 2. Even in defeat I was so proud of my team....why?.....because we took the game to them. If we have a team that rolls over too easy then we need to clear out and start again. Hopefully the takeover will allow that.....please no more sh*t performances like today.
