Looks like Lloris twisted his arm the wrong way, if his rotator cuff is detached that is his career finished. On the plus side he won't be able to drink and drive a RHD car for at least 3 years.
This is like watching the beginning of 2008 season ... the end of the Ramos era. Constant mistakes...sending offs...disjointed and poorly balanced team ... players giving up at the first sign of adversity...slow ponderous play... I really hoped that the Southampton game was a turning point but clearly not.
We seem to play every game these days at the kind of pace you fall into when you’re 3-0 up in the 70th minute, which is completely unacceptable in any other circumstances. Defence look rattled, midfield might as well not be there and the ball just isn’t coming to the forward players.
To me it’s pretty obvious the players aren’t playing for Poch. That XI on paper was great. Only one or two players from our strongest team. To be outworked and outplayed like this is just poor.
What the hell has happened to this team? Is this really Poch's fault. Or has he been forced into a situation where he has to work with players who don't want to be there?
Watching the replay of the first goal I think Lloris did his injury when put his arm up as he went catch the ball and didn’t have the strength in his arm to hold on to the ball
Some of the players are miles away from being fully up to speed, though. Both the midfielders, for example. Dier's been out for ages with illness and injury, didn't play the pre-season and barely has a minute this season, yet he starts. Ndombele looks a real prospect, but he's clearly struggling with the pace of the game and hasn't adapted yet. He should be getting integrated over time from the bench and he's thrown in at the deep end, because we're struggling.
That was alarmingly like the AVB days. No pace at all, half an hour to move the ball from back to front. That's not lack of effort it's lack of confidence. We have no midfield so I don't think you can lay ALL the blame at the defenders door. NDombele is not quick enough Dier is not up to speed and that means we have no control in this game. Too slow for our forwards not to be facing a wall and too exposed at the back as our midfield ceases to exist.
Hate to make this about the fans but you know ... like ... maybe they should have the respect to play for us. Not digging at you Dier but the players have no right to not play for the manager... I get paid £18000 per yr before tax doing a hard job... I have missed 1 home league games and 1 home CL match in 2019 and I can remember about 5 matches where I felt we put in 90 mins of decent football. That is not acceptable...they get paid my annual wage every 2 or 3 days. They'd have something to say if we turned up and booed...yet are doing the football equivalent of that to us.
