A team in good form, scored a handful of goals last weekend, unbeaten at home all season, and a brilliant atmosphere among the supporters – yes, Fleetwood Town are looking good. Joey Barton has pulled together a decent squad, containing the likes of Ched Evans and Jordan Rossiter, and seem to be surprising many supporters with a credible promotion push this campaign. While it’s still early days in the season, Barton’s men may well take advantage of lapses in form for more fancied sides, such as Portsmouth, Lincoln, Rotherham and – to a lesser extent – Sunderland.

With Accrington, Southend, and Rotherham to come this month, it is arguably this away trip to Fleetwood (the first time we've ever played them) that will provide the toughest test of October. A win, and we’d open a healthy early buffer between the automatic promotion and play-off spots. Lose, and the likes of Fleetwood, Wycombe, and Sunderland will edge closer to us and potentially overtake us following another bizarre decision to postpone our international break fixture.

I think we’ll drop points, but probably do enough to salvage a 1-1 draw in a fairly scrappy, low-quality match. Maybe the club will happily take a draw, moving to only three further unbeaten matches to go a club-record 15 matches unbeaten (surpassing the 14 we managed in the 1980/81 campaign). Kudos again to our supporters for 1,100 fans filling the away end, another strong showing on the road by our supporters who have really got behind the League One challenge. I’m hoping Norwood will score, after four games without a goal, and he’s arguably been trying too hard to put the ball in the back of the net. For the first team selection, I would like to see:

    Holy
    Chambers / Skuse / Wolfenden
    KVY / Downes / Huws / Garbutt
    Nolan
    Norwood / Jackson

I'd take a draw, Fleetwood haven't lost at home since February. 1-1

Like the line up Nuggets. Though I get the feeling there may be a formation change today to counter Fleetwood

442 or I wouldn't even be surprised if Norwood played as a lone striker

To a certain degree he has a point but is probably wise to keep those thoughts to himself, rather than gobbing off.

As for today....I'm not expecting too much and would be happy with a draw!

Terrible first half full of aimless punts forward and robust challenges all over the pitch.
Fleetwood have been the better side and are playing the better, more controlled football. We haven't really got going but that could be due to the Fleetwood players putting a lot of effort into pressing our lads, who are making high energy runs to close us down quickly. I hope that leads to them tiring in the second half so that we can take control of the game.
The ref can't keep his whistle out of his mouth and it has been stop/start all game with plenty of free kicks given out in a strongly contested match.
We will need to do better with the ball in the second half if we are to win this one.
