It must seem odd to the younger contributors on here to learn that Chelsea were pretty much a joke team throughout the 70s and 80s. After the glory days of the late 60s and 70's, I always think of Chelsea having a succession of managers and always on the brink of relegation. They seemed to always make good copy for the papers as the managers were always getting sacked. Even now, it seems odd that their strike force of Kerry Dixon and David Speedie was so revered at the time. By the time they had both signed for Saints, they were well past their best. It is staggering to see how far Chelsea have come since Ken Bates got bombed out.
Tomatoes weren't so good this year, took ages to mature and then the rains came just when they wanted sun. Good year for spuds though, and runner beans did well. Courgettes and spinach just kept giving. Carrots and leeks are still in the ground, they'll have to come up soon. Then it'll be time to dig everything up, turn the soil over, and wait for spring.
Ditto with my tomatoes. I should have done them in a pot. Carrots and parsnips still in. The bunnies had a good feed of French beans and I left my courgettes because of being away with work and ended up with marrows!
Omg, you've got the same symptoms as Mrs Vegas. She has been really poorly with it Fats. Its called last word syndrome
If he picks a team that puts every player in their strongest/most natural position then i'm sure 99% of fans will be happy. However if he plays players in the wrong position and we start **** so he has to change things around he would in my opinion deserve a very hard toe punt to the bollocks.
In terms of selection (rather than quality of our actual team!) then yeah I agree most were happy - or at least I assume. Just seemed weird to not replace Cedric with Valery
I have to admit that Valery’s apparent fall from grace baffles me. I can only assume he hasn’t been putting it all in, in training.
I hate it when we play our game late...too much potential for dropping down the table before we even play. Adds extra pressure on the fans.
You said you were getting ready to kick Ralph in the bollocks, so I assumed from that that you were anticipating him picking a team you didn’t like.
