never know though. Adrian doesn’t sweep quite as much as Allison does and maybe just the communication and presence isnt as commanding etc. Does seem our FBs are getting exposed a lot more this season, is that the midfield 3 not pushing across quickly enough or the wide players not dropping back enough to help? Something isn’t quite right though as even in the league despite conceding least amount of goals we’ve looked far less assured than last year.
We need to sort it out, we are shipping far too many goals for a very good defence. Teams are getting far too many opportunities, whereas last season in felt we just nullified a lot of them. We were a bit **** in the champions league group stages last year and that hasn't changed much this season
Klopp is just playing next level mindgames to give teams hope if they dare attack us Unbeaten in the PL at Anfield since May 2017
In the PL, the goals conceded is only marginally worse than last season (averaged out), but I agree we don't look as confident. Adrian has done ok, but Alisson is a step above and that could be making the difference. We tend to be weaker down our right, probably because Virge can't be in two places at once, and Mo doesn't put the same defensive shift in that Mané does. A certain vulnerability is the price to pay for having two adventurous FB's, and so far we haven't come seriously unstuck. The ball over the top is a problem though, particularly down the right, and Vardy is gonna love that.
Before I went to bed, Liverpool were third in the table, when I woke up they were second. What happened?
Who'd have thought a comeback against Barcelona would be immediately followed by a comeback against Salzburg. This team is so exciting to watch ...... for all sorts of reasons.
Not technically a comeback against Salzburg; we were drawing for 18 minutes and ahead for the rest of the game
