I suppose to keep things in perspective Cardiff have just come down from Premier League with a bank full of cash, a goalkeeper that cost more than our entire squad and expectation that they'll be in the shake up for top 6 come May. Most of us would have taken a mid table spot after 10 games and still only 3 points off play off spot...….we've come on in leaps and bounds compared to last few years so it was always likely that we'd lose tonight and with a bit of luck might have got a point...… Only problem is that Blackburn are bit of a bogie side to us...…. Keep the faith...
I think, that Lumley would have done better with the goal 1 and goal 2. Nobody would have stopped the goal 3
To be fair, we could push for something in the middle of the top half of the table. But the team would really need to work hard together, be really disciplined and serious about what they're doing in every minute of each game. But looking around the table, I really can't see us being in the top six after the long slog of the full season. But, you never know with football (and especially the Championship)!
We also hit the post twice and carved a team with ten men behind the ball open more than most teams at this level could. That’s enough threat for me. The defending was atrocious but I can’t accept we were inferior to that Pulis wet dream.
In two difficult away games we lost to an aggregate of 5-0. An issue is certainly our defending, plus our goal scoring had dried up. I am sure that there are lessons learned! Have a good night! Cheers!
Championship is a difficult division. Anyone can beat anyone on any given day. We are still a relatively new team. MW was after a centre back in transfer season,, maybe he will go back in Jan. We have come a long way. Playing against an ex manager who will want to turn us over, and an ex goal keeper that will want to keep a clean sheet...was the writing on the wall? Maybe we will play worse with hardly any possession and win As Tramore R says, Keep the faith
In lanzarote so can’t see highlights & only what read on here & it seems score flattering to Cardiff,
Busy tonight so just read this thread. Easier to redirect a team that has momentum which this QPR team does. We lost to a demoted PL team just like many teams lost to us after we relegated first time. Roll on Saturday.
Another frustrating game for us tonight but Warnock did a number on us. The way we're trying to play is good to see but it's only good when it's effective ie winning. It would seem that the only work the defence coaching team is doing is how to play out from the back and not the actual defending bit. Even at 3-0 down they were still trying the same routine. MW will do well to watch that game back over and look at the way Cardiff defended. He should then try and get our players to do that and then start to play in the way he wants to. You need the defensive foundation in place before you can run. Every great and successful team in history has built from the back and knew how to defend as a team. ( Pele's Brazil and Messi's Barcelona are possible exceptions. ) That's my thinking anyway, but what do I know? Two games ago I wouldn't have typed that because as long as we were outscoring teams and winning who cared if we didn't keep a clean sheet. The realisation is that if one of our chances had gone in at 1-0 or even 2-0 down then we have a different game on our hands, but that's football. It wasn't the case so we have to move swiftly on to Saturday when we play Blackburn which is another difficult game but doable. Hoping for a win, would accept a disappointing draw but a loss would set the alarm bells ringing about going on another of those six game losing runs as the team loses all confidence. If we can get back to winning ways we can start looking up again and these last two games will fade very quickly in the memory.
Seems now they have stopped the pubs showing the red button. I ended up watching the Luton game.GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED

Strange game, poor defending and the luck definitely not with us last night, was it twice or more that we hit the woodwork? Bit of a concern we got opened up so easily when chasing the game but I did suggest the other day celebrate the victories but there were some more difficult games coming up. Three nil was majorly flattering but showed things seriously need to be tightened up.
We’re on the same points as Cardiff. I’ll take our start with the resources we have over theirs to see some actual football being played for my money.
