Sorry for the boring post, has/does anyone on here use/used Puregym? Just looking at maybe joining but wanted to know if its worth it. Thanks
I've used one, though not in Hull. The model seems to be you pay your money then you're on your own. That is you let yourself in with a code, no reception, no cafe/shop etc, just lots of equipment. The people who are there who might look like staff are actually self-employed personal trainers touting for business. If you go to the gym just to exercise and don't need help or if you want a personal trainer it's fine, if you want to go to get a bit of a social life then it's probably not the place.
Thank you that is good information, I'm starting a weigh lose plan and as part of it just need somewhere for the equipment not bothered about using it as part of my social life, In fact looking at going at weird hours so not many others are around so I don't feel paranoid about myself.
I'm a member of one in London, and so far my experiences have been very positive. If it's the same as the one I use, you can still have an induction and join classes as part of your membership.
I go to the gym five times a week, one day I must go in! The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
I tried a Gym for about 6 months, I just found it really boring and sterile. It was a major chore to motivate myself to go. I’d prefer to go on a walk or out on my bike.
The Mrs paid Gym Membership at Cave Castle for 2.5 years and didn’t go once apart from the initial warm up equipment introduction session
i did cardio physio for 9 month and never saw anyone just do treadmill .in fact you was,nt allowed to.

Been a member of pure gym for 7 years mate ... pay 10.99 a month and can walk away anytime you want .. no tie in contracts. The gym I use has a whole downstairs dedicated to loose weight training and upstairs level has every bit of multi gym equipment you could want. They organise free classes if that's you want but you can also get personal one to one training should you require. It doesn't have sauna steam rooms or the other extras that dearer gyms possess but I go to train not to pose .. would recommend them to anyone. You get value for money and given I use it 5 or 6 times a week works out pretty cheap.
I was a member last year , thought it was pretty good . The lack of talking and human contact is a plus to me , also never seen so many attractive young ladies in one place , I know all gyms have them but sometimes it was impossible to stand up never mind exercise
Go to your local rock climbing gym. Much more fun, you’ll actually look forward to going. So you might stick at it.
