Manchester United vs Arsenal [Match Thread]

On the plus side Guendouzi is always good in these games. He gets involved going forward and defensively, never stops running, puts his body on the line.
Its easy to forget he's only 19 and will get physically stronger over the next few years. The kid is an absolute gem.


Also - The fact we have Lacazette, Bellerin, Tierney and Holding to come back into the squad makes me feel alot more optimistic about the Season.

 

• Leno was very good yesterday! Not sure why people say they dont feel comfortable with him
• CB pair did well
• I have my doubt about Chambers but he did very well yesterday. Very good on the ball.
• Xhaka did NOT duck. The guy took a shot, he wildely guessed where the ball would go and it got a slight deflection. People who would want to avoid the ball would not duck but rather turn around
• Emery was too conservative but based on the amount of shots we have conceded I dont fully blame him
• Guenzdozi and Auba killed it.
• Pepe had a poor game. Hindsight is a lovely thing. I would have started Ozil instead of Pepe with the knowledge I have today but not with the knowledge I had before the game.

 

Leno kept us in it. I am not saying he's a bad goalkeeper. I recognize his talent and I know I shouldn't feel how I feel but I just do. I guess me vocalizing that gives a different impression. Maybe it is Martinez' size, better command of crosses and better defensive performers in front of him that makes me feel how I feel. But fair play to Leno.

I really hope some one is in Allegri's ear!

I still feel I havnt seen enough of him myself, but this is the first time Ive seen someone say this.

 

You don't need to see much of a player to see if the quality is there in my opinion. This time next year when he's playing for a mid table side you will remember you heard it from me 1st
