    McCann on team news

Everyone seems fine, no major problems, one 50/50 but he should be okay. Callum Elder is still out and is a maybe for Huddersfield. He won’t be going away with Australia. Jon Toral is close, we’ve given him a couple of days away and he seems to be in a much better place. He will probably return to training on Monday.

    McCann on Toral

It’s a shame for someone of his abilities, but I have reassured that he is a big part of our plans.

    Behind closed doors friendly

McCann confirms that Markus Henriksen, Norbert Balogh, Brandon Fleming, David Milinkovic and Dan Batty among those who played in a 9-2 win over York City behind closed doors.

    McCann on morale

I think the mood has been good anyway. The win has been great but this week hasn’t been any different.

    McCann on Cardiff

We will take it game by game. It is always tough against Neil Warnock’s teams, especially after just coming down from the Premier League.

    McCann on goalkeepers

I have been really impressed by George Long and Matt Ingram. I told them at the start of the season to fight for the jersey and I have two keepers I can rely on. They are both really good ages, but Longy has come into himself and is turning into a leader.

    McCann on strikers

It is close, the way I see it, we have a front three not a front one. Bowen is scoring and Grosicki is scoring. We would like all three to be scoring, but we have two at the moment. Centre forwards are always going to be judge on goals, but I have been pleased. Once Tom Eaves gets his first goal, he will by flying.

    McCann on wingers

Both have started really well and they are a big, big threat. They are very different. Kamil is very much a wide player, whilst Jarrod gets in the pockets. They will find it difficult to get past the full-backs against Cardiff, but it is up to them to do that. They are in talks with a number of players, contracts wise, Kamil is one of them, although nothing has been offered yet. I am sure the club will sit down with Jarrod, it is down to Jarrod to arrange a deal for himself. I don’t think the club would stand in the way of a bid for him.

So that's Toral, Milinkovic and maybe Henriksen all either sulking or out of favour?

I don't think Toral is out of favour, he is just injured all the time, and it seems to me it has been getting on top of him, so has been given a few days off.

Apparently Norbert Balogh is being considered for the squad on Saturday.

I'd have Fleming in for Kingsley and I'd have Henriksen in the squad as well.

    Kingsley was decent last week.

I heard he was better, but I'd still prefer Fleming.

It'd be a strange one to drop Kingsley after we finally get a clean sheet, particularly after McCann has bemoaned the lack of a settled back four.

And whilst Kingsley was very poor before his injury, we also conceded two goals within minutes from Fleming's side in the one game he started, so his record isn't much better.

It will be Kingsley who starts, I'd just rather it was Fleming.

McCann made a big point before the Luton game of wanting to try and get a settled defence for more than one game in a row! Given they got a clean sheet last week, I'd be amazed if he changes it unless he has to.

Cardiff City have suffered another injury blow ahead of tomorrow's match against Hull City at the KCOM Stadium.

Neil Warnock’s side are currently just one place and three points ahead of the Tigers in the Championship standings after the Bluebirds’ first season back in England’s second tier has seen them pick up a mixed set of results so far.

In their last match, Cardiff earned a 1-0 victory against Middlesbrough on home soil, with 10 of their 12 Championship points being picked up in home fixtures.

Yesterday, it was announced that striker Isaac Vassell will be ruled out for the next two months after tearing a quadricep.

Vassell completed a £2 million from Birmingham City on deadline day at the start of last month, but is now set to be ruled out until at least November, adding to their current injury list.

Striker Robert Glatzel, who took the number nine shirt in South Wales after signing from German side Heidenheim in the summer, is a doubt after suffering from a bout of sickness and diarrhoea last week and was only set to return to training yesterday.

Defender Sol Bamba, who has been imperative to their success in the past couple of seasons, has been ruled out since March after tearing a cruciate knee ligament against Wolverhampton Wanderers in March. He has resumed full training this week but the trip to East Yorkshire could come too soon for the 34-year-old.

Also returning to training this week is midfielder Marlon Pack, who has missed Cardiff’s last five Championship matches with a hamstring tear sustained in his second league appearance under Warnock during the 3-0 defeat to Reading last month. However, like Bamba, the near 450-mile round trip to Hull and back may also be a stretch to far for Pack.

Defenders Matthew Connolly and Jazz Richards have not featured so far this season with long term injury issues and are again set to miss out this weekend.

I’d quite like to see Balogh and Eaves start up front together. Opposition centre halves would be bricking it.

Agreed. I’d go one further and have Henriksen starting personally. Honeyman hasn’t convinced me at all.

I think all the midfielders have done a good job so far.

Honeyman is going to be a cult figure at City. He doesn’t take **** from anyone. It’s brilliant.

I would say we have great workers in the midfield but do lack that one player to open teams up and we need more goals from the rest of the team, Stewart did well last week scoring two, let's hope for an home win today.
