I’ve gone with the Racing Post (more importantly Stick) in the Cambridgeshire. Another Touch. Skybet paying 8 places. Have a great weekend fellas
30+ runner cavalry charge over an odd distance has to be a bookies benefit. Some of the prices of the last 10 winners would appear to back that up. So I'm looking for one at a big price. My pin landed on Little Jo @ 50/1 ew 5 places. It's LJ's seasonal debut so I'd usually look elsewhere at this time of year. However the trainer is a renowned dodgy boy capable of landing a plot. The stable is also in good form, nominated LJ as one to follow at the start of the season and the horse ran very well in the consolation event last year. Maybe this has been the plan all along. Maybe not, we'll see. A few quid ew on Mordin too as a saver @ 14s. Good luck all.
Frankelio 2-10 Chester is a horse i backed last time out, been gelded since and returns today, this horse is slipping down the handicap and is handily drawn 4 ,Currently 10/1, the stable really knows the time of day so he is one i will be keeping an eye on, The market will tell us if the handbrake is off today.
Great to see the home nation Japan beat Ireland in the rugby..they deserved it to. On to the racing.. Newmarket 1.50pm Kameko 11/8 win Interesting to read Grendels write up but I take the view that Positive ran to a good level and the extra distance here will clearly help. The fact Kameko is trying to emulate Roaring Lion and in the same ownership adds another aspect to this.. guaranteed he will be fine tuned for race.. Newmarket 3.40pm Dark Vision 20/1 each way 8 places. Has a visor fitted today and William Buick takes the ride for first time. Could work the magic. Ran ok in the Britannia and whilst largely been disappointing..including when trying front running tactics last time out he could suddenly produce the goods. Strange to think in a way earlier in season he ran in the 2000 guineas. Good luck all..
An "S" day for me - Siskin in a cracking renewal of the Middle Park and Scarlet Dragon in the listed handicap hurdle at Market Rasen.
I've managed to convince myself that Little Jo is a plot, Chan! As you say, he ran well in the Silver Cambs last year, on ground probably slightly too quick for him, and has an 8lb pull with the winner Jazeel for 1/2 length margin. A year off isn't the conventional way of getting one ready, but he has run well fresh in the past. I could only get 33-1 though Welcome to the DT, BT
We are going to throw the dice in the Cambridgeshire: Chance 33/1 e/w (eight places). Navan 17,15 Gold Speed 4/1.
I like to back horses which have a 'D' last time out, it generally means that they are trying to recoup losses. 12/1 long gone 7/1 in places
G'day cobbers (my Aussie accent is terrible) - here is today's lose news. As per my competition entry, I'm big on Kameko, I can't see Raffle Prize being beaten (or any horse named after my whippet!) and Mum's Tipple won me a few bob lto, so have to stick with him. The cavalry charge brings the usual large degree of luck needed, and I have thrown three darts at it - Little Jo, Another Touch (stick) and Korcho all ew. Over at Chester, I'm on Gabrial The Tiger and Scofflaw Incidentally, and of no use whatsoever in finding winners, who knows where the term Scofflaw originates? I'll tell you then. During America's Prohibition period, the term was applied to anyone ignoring the Volstead act, and continuing to make, supply and drink, alcohol. Pretty much everyone then! Good luck today, peeps
Welcome to the forum. Afaak in the Cambridgeshire for me today. Saw him at York on Dante day last year and was really taken by him. Results have been mixed but his run in the Royal Hunt Cup gives me some confidence that he'll fare better this year.
Have had a little dabble in the first at Chester. Overwrite 14/1 ew for Johnston/Norton combo who usually do very well at the track
