please log in to view this image Saturday 28th September 3pm Premier League Tottenham Hotspur Stadium Another week, another competition and another unacceptable performance. This is getting predictable. With the club seemingly in crisis, it's time to welcome Pochettino's old club, Southampton. They would love to get one over on their ex-boss and had a big win in the week against Portsmouth. Most of our big names had a midweek rest, so they have no excuses for failing to turn up to this one. Can Pochettino pull another Palace performance out of the bag or will revenge be served cold? Ralph Hasenhuttl joined Southampton last season in December with the side in the relegation zone. Mark Hughes spent less than 9 months at the helm of his old side and was sacked due to poor results. The new manager was announced on the day of our fixture at Wembley and watched from the stands. He would not have been impressed with what he saw, nor the first game in his charge, as they lost both. A late victory against Arsenal in his first home game raised spirits and pulled them out of the drop zone, though. Their erratic form continued for the rest of the campaign, as they fought to avoid relegation. They finished one point short of the magic 40 points, but it was more than enough and they finished 16th. A fairly quiet transfer window followed and they've started the season with similar results to the last. Losses to Burnley, Liverpool and Bournemouth, a draw against Man Utd and wins over Brighton and Sheffield United. A 4-0 victory in the League Cup at arch enemy Portsmouth will have more than made up for that. Our aforementioned victory last season at Wembley was a mixed display, as both teams created a lot of chances. Both goalkeepers played well and some wayward finishing also helped them out. Kane put us into the lead early on, sneaking free at the near post to put Eriksen's cross home. The woodwork was hit by both teams and chances went astray, as the score remained the same at the break. Moura and Son quickly put the game to bed in the second half, but Austin got a consolation at the death: The return at St Mary's looked like it was going to be far easier, as we strolled through the first half. Kane gave us another fairly early lead and we dominated completely, but failed to extend it. Pochettino watched from the stands, serving his ban after Burnley, not knowing what was to come. Further chances came and went, until Valery leveled it up with 15 minutes to go. Ward-Prowse fired home a free-kick shortly after that to complete our capitulation and take the points: Lo Celso and Sessegnon continue to miss out through injury, but it seems like everyone else is available. Djenepo is out for the visitors, while McCarthy looks unlikely to be risked following a muscle problem. Neither side has any suspensions. Lineups for each side's last league game: Spurs: Gazzaniga; Aurier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose; Winks, Sissoko, Ndombele, Lamela; Kane, Son. Subs: Whiteman, Dier, Davies, Wanyama, Skipp, Eriksen, Moura. League form: WDLDWL. Southampton: Gunn; Danso, Bednarek, Vestergaard, Soares; Romeu, Hojberg; Ward-Prowse, Boufal; Redmond, Adams. How would you like to line up for this one and what would you change from the Colchester or Leicester games? Should we stick with the diamond, go back to the 4-2-3-1 or do something different entirely? Which system and tactics would you use and what are you expecting Southampton to go with?
That’s a good extension despite the fact he’s now 30. Richly deserved it has to be said after his turnaround. Hopefully this might be a sea change and we might see Jan get secured for another couple of years as well...
****ing hell, he really has lost it! You both got zero points on the weekend though, so it would explain a lot...
And for that signature this is what he deserves: Sissoko Moussa; Sissoko; Moussa; Sissoko Moussa; Sissoko Moussa; Sissoko; Moussa Kane
Southampton enjoy a long and fruitful relationship with Spurs that stretches back decades. In the 1970s we signed Chivers from them and we both got promoted to the first division on the final day when we drew 0-0 at the Dell. In the 1990s we signed Neil Ruddock from them. Since 2000 we have signed Bale, the late Dean Richards, Wanyama and Gazzanigga. In return we gave them £2m for Bales sell on agreement which cost them £18m and the stole Tommy Forecast off us We also share 2 very good managers with them ... both Redknapp and Pochettino got us to the CL so Southampton fans feel they have contibuted to our breaking into the top 4. All in all it is a fruitfull relationship....bound togetherwith mutual respect... hell we even let them steal the world famous "oh when the spurs" song Our line up is likely to be Lloris **** last sat, wants out, soon to be sold, not a real FB Sissoko, soon to be injured, desperate to leave, winks Son Kane Bench Gazzanigga Not good enough Mars bar diet Please don't play me as a FB again CL semi final hat trick but kept out by cant be arsed Too much too young **** in mid week Worse than **** in mid week Thank **** I did not play in mid week Formation Diamonds are forever. Glenn Hoddle left Southampton to become our manager and got sacked after losing at home to Southampton in September 2004. Pochettino left Southampton to become our manager and .... I fecking hate football
