    Match Preview - busy few days at work so copied from the official;
MARK Warburton’s QPR will be eyeing their fifth successive Sky Bet Championship victory on Saturday lunchtime when they host West Bromwich Albion in W12 (12.30pm kick-off).

The clash provides both the R’s and the Baggies with an opportunity to go top of the league, until at least 5pm on Saturday.

Both clubs have collected 16 points from their first eight matches and head into the weekend match-up in impressive form.

Albion – who boast three former R’s in Darnell Furlong, Charlie Austin and Matt Phillips in their ranks – are unbeaten so far this season. Rangers meanwhile have won their last four league games, the first time they have done so since January 2014.

Should QPR make it five straight wins at the weekend then Mark Warburton’s men will top the Championship ahead of Saturday’s 3pm matches.

    Eyes on West Brom:
WEST Bromwich Albion are one of the country’s oldest clubs and this season they will have their eyes on a return to the Premier League, having seen a nine-year spell in the top flight come to an end in 2018.

The Baggies will want to go one better than last season. Play-off heartbreak ended their dreams of an instant return to the Premier League in May.

Experienced manager Slaven Bilić has been tasked with getting the club back up and, following a positive start to the campaign, they look one of the favourites to do so.

Currently sitting in fourth place in the Sky Bet Championship and having not tasted defeat yet, the undefeated the Baggies will be looking to continue their fine start on Saturday.

    Last season
The last campaign ended in bitter disappointment for West Brom as they were dumped out of the play-offs on penalties by local rivals Aston Villa. Relegation from the Premier League the year before ensured the Baggies were looking for an instant return to England’s top division.

A fourth-placed finish set the west midland’s side up for a play-off clash with Villa. Despite winning the second leg 1-0, defeat in a penalty shootout meant it was Dean Smith’s team who would go on to reach the Wembley final, ultimately ending West Brom’s season in disappointment.

Rangers struggled against West Brom last season with the Baggies completing a league double over the R’s in late February.

    Transfer business
West Brom were busy in the last transfer window, with new manager Slaven Bilić adding 10 new players to his squad. In contrast, 14 players departed the Hawthorns in the summer.

Acquisitions Darnell Furlong and Charlie Austin will need no introduction to the W12 faithful, with Furlong arriving in the summer from the R’s and striker Austin arriving from Southampton, following his move to St Mary’s from west London in 2016.

The additions of Romaine Sawyers, Semi Ajayi, Chris Willock, Filip Krovinovic and Kenneth Zahore from Brentford, Rotherham, Benfica B, Benfica and Cardiff respectively have all added key strength to the Baggies' squad.

Many key players departed The Hawthorns this season, with the standout ones being Salomón Rondón, Criag Dawson, Jay Rodriguez, Gareth Barry and James Morrison; the latter ended his 12-year long spell with the Baggies.

There's an obvious 'played for both' omission for those of us that remember 1967, Dave. Clive Clark, who scored two for West Brom in the League Cup final that we went on to win 3-2.

And another famous Cup win in the FA Cup Semi-final in 1981(? my memory's not what it was) when the ball rebounded off Clive Allen's outstretched foot in to the goal to send us to our only FA Cup Final ever. Probably Bob Hazell's finest ever game for us as he completely nullified the threat of Cyrille Regis in his prime.

They've got two other "old boys" in their starting line-up - Matt Philips and Charlie Austin. Fingers crossed both they and Furlong have absolute stinkers on Saturday!

If I am right it’s a 12:00 kick off so we could go top with a win. :)

One of my most memorable games watching the R's as a teenager. The game was at Highbury in 1982 and I went home with the biggest smile on my face. As well as Bobby, Terry Fenwick was a hero. Happy days.

It took me a while to get home, remember faliing in front of the TV to watch the highlights, but that was only after, as a mate told me, he'd pulled me out of a pub in Chiswick because I was about to be set upon by Spuds who didn't like what I was singing about the next big event at Wembley.

Can't be there but hope Charlie gets the welcome he deserves.
Tough old game - we are bookies 'favourites' but only by a gnat's whisker.

I have misgivings about this match mainly because of the result at the Hawthorns a year ago. That could be forgotten, of course, by a 5th win in a row and a temporary jump to the top of the table

    Nice one Dave

Let's hope we can do the Baggies and put a marker down to the rest of the League

Nothing less than an 8-0 victory will suffice for this one......toying with going but as I’m just gonna be off nights I might just watch on the box
If we lose I’ll only blame myself for showing my face. :)
