Why would there be a backlash?

Sheff Utd got knocked out by lower league last night
Would have preferred this game to be at home tbh, we have got that stupid record thing being banged on about every game now.
We all know its going to go at some point. I dont even think they should be counting last seasons prem games but there you go
I know all logic dictates we should win this but football is littered with these kind of results.
I would like to see city drop more points before we drop any, but i can see a draw in that 12:30 KO, genuinely.
    That said i am pessimistic:)

    'WE MUST CAUSE LIVERPOOL PROBLEMS'

"We have to try and find a way to cause them problems. We want to make it as uncomfortable for them as possible of course. Everybody will have it down as an away win because of history and the talent that they’ve got.

"We’ve got to make sure that we look at small ways that we can hurt them and that’s what we’re going to try to do and be competitive in our approach."

WILDER: LIVERPOOL GAME IS A REWARD

“Playing the European champions at home is always going to be one of those fixtures that - when we got back into the Premier League - we’d be looking at.

“I want my team to be competitive as always. We have been so far this season, but I think this is, for me, a reward for the club and the supporters and the way that they’ve followed their team through thick and thin.

“The challenge for us is obviously to compete on Saturday and the longer term challenge is for this to be a regular fixture.”

Sheffield United: Premier League's 'harshest' referee this season to be in charge of Blades' clash against Liverpool
It has been confirmed that referee Anthony Taylor will be in charge of Sheffield United's eagerly anticipated clash against Liverpool this weekend, as the Blades look to follow up on last Saturday's big win against Everton by claiming another Merseyside scalp.

The 40-year-old has shown more yellow cards than any other referee in the early stages of the 2019/20 season, and gave Wily Bolly his marching orders when Wolves lost 3-2 to Everton earlier in the month.

In the past, he's been in charge of five Sheffield United games, and sent off Chris Basham in a 3-0 victory over Blackburn Rovers last season. He's also awarded the Blades three penalties across the five matches.

So far this season, Chris Wilder has done a fine job of keeping his side disciplined, and they've only picked up ten yellow cards so far this season despite being on the receiving end of some attacking barrages from their opponents. To put this into context, Arsenal have the most, having racked up 17 bookings already.

Liverpool will be a tricky test for United, having won all six of their opening matches in the Premier League this season. However, they showed signs over vulnerability in the second half against Chelsea last weekend, and the Blades will feel confident in their ability to spring a surprise on Jurgen Klopp's Champions League winners.

3 goals in the first half and walk the rest of the game to keep everyone injury free.

    I hope

Whilst 3 in the first half would be great, I wouldn't like to see us take our foot off the gas in the second.
    Containment isn't our strong suit.

I just mean do what we did in the chav game if its possible, I think we'll be seeing much more of us shutting games down after taking a lead this season. We are a much more intelligent team in that respect than last year and certainly the year before that.

What I mean by that is not taking our foot off the gas as such but more controlling the end of games better.

This team is constantly evolving imo... I think Klopp is more mindfully of burnout and is planning ahead accordingly with not going for goals every second when we don't need to.

You're quite right, of course. Our defending has been transformed with VvD in there, and Matip has improved tremendously over the last year - but I must confess to a sneaking admiration for the "we'll just score loads more than you" attitude. :)
I know it can be dangerous, but the only team to match us atm is City, and they have the same gung-ho approach.
Obviously I want us to win, but I do like entertaining football.

Oh yeh I don't think we will be less attacking by any means, just more intelligent with "game management" I think the birth of that comes from the CL final against spurs tbh. You could see how much more ready we were than the previous final 8n terms of being patient and playing on the counter. Just think we'll see a lot more of it this season.

We can't compete with city's squad and the cover they have so we need to stay fresh in other ways.

    Klopps a genius :bandit:

For all their quality, they do have Stones and Otamendi at the back - and they're comical at times.
