I bet he's glad he studied and done his degree now. Its such a shame him and Kirchoff have had their careers ruined, both could have been excellent players for us. It was only 3 years ago Watmore won the Toulon player of the tournament for England U21s.
I know but unfortunately he's our player and we're stuck with him till Jan at least so whats the point in ruining his confidence even more by continuing to bench him. Tonight is a nothing game really so it would have been a chance to give him 90 minutes. Imagine if Maguire does his cruciate by playing tonight? Its pointless taking any risks.

He managed to score against a strong Burnley side mate. There is a player in there somewhere and the only way he can find it is by getting game time.

That's a fair point... at one point Watmore was similar to Sterling, lots of pace/talent but often not a good final pass /shot. Say what you like about Chitty and their manager, but Sterling now is at times unplayable... would Watmore have progressed as he as.... we will never know?
I think our best performances have been with Power in the team, there's not a lot to choose between our CMs but he's a leader and that's always useful when it goes tits up most matches.
