I wish the climate had decided to on strike today, so we didn't have to get rained on. Harumph.

    100% agree.
She nails it for me here ....... "People are suffering. People are dying. Entire ecosystems are collapsing. We are in the beginning of a mass extinction, and all you can talk about is money and fairy tales of eternal economic growth. How dare you!"

For me it was 'You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words'

.....it was just like me and Terry Neill in 1974.

Climate change denial is so 2001 deal with it.

The current period of warming is 100% caused by human activity. The science is unfortunately now indisputable. Except on the internet.

Do I want to stop going on holiday, driving my big car, eating meat or enjoying electricity - no I don't. But I'd be a thick **** to deny there was a problem.

It's a bit like the fact I know I drink too much. It doesn't really stop me drinking but I'd be daft to deny that I know it not really good for me.

"The current period of warming is 100% caused by human activity."

Can you give 5 authenticated scientifically peer reviewed respected journals' examples to prove the 100% claim you are making ? 5 with counter arguments disproven ?

I won't post anything TC. Nothing I could post would change your mind. You'd post counter arguments. We'd go around in pointless circles.

I guess my Grandkids and your Greatgrandkids will know in a 100 years who was right....

Another wild 100% assumption on your part ST ? Perhaps I'm interested in getting closer to the truth, a better understanding. You certainly appear to have reached that conclusion already !

Again, what she said. "People are suffering. People are dying. Entire ecosystems are collapsing. We are in the beginning of a mass extinction, and all you can talk about is money and fairy tales of eternal economic growth. How dare you!"

Irrespective of arguing about whether climate change is real and whether or not it's down to human activity, just look at what us humans are ****ing doing to the world around us. Only total idiots would now deny the unsustainable damage we are doing. Oh, and the pedlars of the "fairy tales" who are only interested in maintaining the status quo for themselves. Meanwhile the planet is dying. Massive change is needed. Individuals can do their bit but it needs systemic global economic change which is beyond the power of individuals. Thank god we have disrupters like this lass. Hopefully a snowball is now rolling and it gathers momentum until it becomes unstoppable. Without it we are truly ****ed; denying it is ridiculous.

Not sure if you are pointing fingers at me here, probably not. I'm denying nothing in the context of the global warming issue other than it's not 100 % due to the human activity claim.
Climate change is real. The question is, how much is due to human activity ( misguided betterment, greed etc etc).

We, as humans, are certainly putting possibly unsustainable demands on planet Earth. There are many other factors involved in the "sustainability of life" in our solar system. Many of which are beyond our control at the present time in our scientific/technological degree of understanding/advancement. Just have to look at the current scientific knowledge of the "history" of our solar system.

I agree that individuals like the young Norwegian lass are bringing certain issues to the forefront of consciousness (politically and to the grass roots electorate).

One problem solutions are not going to do it, but every little bit helps.

Putting aside all the arguments in the here and now, but projecting forward that it's a certainty that the world will come to an end eventually: I wonder what it will be like for those last generations as they will know there's no way out. Scary.
