He was at fault for the first goal, as McGinn ghosted behind and he didn't track his man, but he more than made up for it afterwards. That's the one thing I like about Guendouzi - even if he makes a mistake, he never shies away and always looks to take responsibility.

He seems completely fearless when he plays - he isn’t phased by playing at the top level at all. Wish more of our players had that mentality as we might not have capitulated against Watford the way we did - or in so many away games for that matter!

For me the starting MF 3 should be Willock - Torreira - Guedouzi with Torreira sitting. Ceballos can play with the front 3 or come in for Willock if he burns out. Xhaka slows every thing down. He is not disciplined enough. Wrong choice of captain IMO. Let us trust these young players. Chambers also deserves a run in the team.

It'll be interesting to see what a Holding - Chambers pairing will look like.

Xhaka isn’t confirmed as captain - he may be one of 5 that Emery chooses.

To me he should not be in starting 11 as he isn’t a DM and isn’t good enough as an attacking CM.
We have better options in the squad

Me too. Hope Holding has made a full recovery as he looked quality last Season. Also looking forward to seeing Tierney in an Arsenal shirt.

Soo Tierney looks class! he's creating chances with his pace and movement and always gets back into a good defensive position.
Martinelli took his goal well. Lovely header this kid has some real ability.
Holding has'nt had alot to do but looks solid soo far.

We've played very well. In fact, that's probably the best first half we've had all season. I know it's against a Championship side, but still.

We've been combative and aggressive in midfield, pressing them high and winning the ball back in dangerous areas. Tierney and Chambers have been a class above what we've been used to seeing with Kola and AMN at full-back. Both offering defensive cover and decent attacking threat. This is what I like to see.

Shame about ESR's injury and the fact we didn't score more.

Hope for more of the same in the second-half.

Rob Holding is 100% the best centreback at Arsenal.

Amazing he's out for 9 months. Has knee surgery then comes back into the side with a performance like this. Give him the armband.

Ok well that couldnt have gone much better. 5-0
    • Holding returned with a goal and an all round superb performance.
    • Tierney looks pure class. The guy is lightning quick and defensively sound.
    • Bellerin got 35 mins. Grabbed an assist and looked decent.
    • Martinelli scored two lovely goals! Top class ability - now he needs more game time.
    • Chambers played very well at LB and RB. Solid player to have in the squad. Voted MOTM.
    • Ozil was excellent today. Torreira also played well.
    • Willock and R Nelson also grabbed goals today and put in decent performances
    • ....and Mustafi did nothing wrong.
