SVDB played out of position on his debut? That’d be a big ask if a young boy. Milner in the front 3 won’t happen....switch him with Ox in your team
Gomez could play LB. However, plenty have made their debut for us out of their natural position; Carragher, Gerrard, Babbel, etc TBH, I was just trying to get ten outfield available non- first choice players
I saw that. Is Keita back in training? If so, I’d be surprised if he doesn’t get a run out. Same with Origi and Brewster. Our front 3 need to be rested altogether if at all possible.
It wouldn't surprise me if they didn't even make the bench. We won't take this game seriously. The players who are picked will, of course.
I’d be happy with that and the potential consequences. I’m not sure all of us would be but we are not City rich with regards to squad size so we have to prioritise. Simples
They ought to be good enough to get a result from a mid League One team, but strange things happen in cups. Should be interesting.
I think it's important they play as a team other than trying to impress Klopp with an individual performance.
Hope the kids do well and for their sake they progress to get more game time. However if we dont win I wont be too upset
I will be, this is an opportunity for squad members that we may need throughout the season to get game time, this will mean that they are better prepared if they need to step up.
I do agree, but say we get to the semi finals which consist of a two leg tie in January. That needs to fit in around rescheduled premier league games due to our participation in the world club cup. All of which will mean we have a knackered and probably thinner squad by January. We dont have the squad to deal with all that
We can always recruit from the U23's if need be. I don't think Klopp is a big lover of this competition but to me it's a trophy and we should look to win it.
Usually if we progress, we'd bring in the better players further down the line. Perhaps this time we could put out a second string and leave it at that - let them see how far they can get in the competition. It would give them valuable game time without taking too much out of them, and should improve their chances of performing well if they were called on to step up.
For me, it’s all about prioritising. We’ll all share different views on this and that’s perfectly normal. Here’s how I would like the club to prioritise the competitions that we will compete in this year: 1. The league 2. The league 3. The league 4. The league 5. Everything else We need that f#cking monkey off our back
