Rayners Lane v Ampthill finished 3-3 with a gate of around 40 witnessing a cracking game in the Spartan South Midlands League Division 1. Rayners Lane installed a 3g pitch last season and are now having work done on the side of their main stand, busy times for them. With the work going on there is not a gate for payment, a guy came round with a plastic container to people that were in the clubhouse! On 3g pitches you often see a good game of football, even at this level. This was no exception with the ball being played on the deck and some goals that would not have been out of place in the Premier League. With no programme being produced I was fortunate enough to get copies of the team sheets, kindly printed by the front desk of the clubhouse. £3 concession admission £8 two lagers Total outlay £11
Never even heard of these teams. But The George is a great little place Charlton Athletic v Birmingham City eventually (part 1)
@lardiman I have had a word with Mr ban Gerwen and I have asked him to relieve me of my duties on here to make you his Deputy, assuming you accept. My Birmingham buddies were trying to get me to go to the game, so as a compromise I said I'd take them on a little pub crawl. I had warned them that London Bridge would be near to £6 a pint but they insisted on going there. I got the first round in and was averaging £4.60 a pint, one of them said that "I did not know what I was talking about". We then went into The George(it's a nice little pub isn't Mr Lardiman), then my mate got clobbered for the £6 pints I promised would come their way After this we went down to Maze Hill.
Whilst the game was on I monitored the score in The Vanbrugh, then at half-time I thought I'd remind myself what The Valley looked like and had a pint in The Royal Oak, entering the beer garden just as a roar went up from the away end, that could only mean one thing, the winner. As you can see from the pictures, I am not one to hold a grudge and met my buddies in The Chandos on St Martins Lane allowing them to celebrate their victory. I was absolutely steaming!
It's that time again... Colney Heath FC vs Eynesbury Rovers Saturday 21st September 3:00 kick off (part 1)
A very basic ground, set in Colney Heath village about 4 miles from St Albans. This Spartan South Midlands Division One game finished 2-1 to the home side, around 60 fans basking in the sunshine, although not much to enjoy with the football.
Mr ban Gerwen still has not acknowledged the great work by Mr Lardiman. Very disappointing. £4 concession admission with programme. £4.50 badge £7 two San Miguels Total outlay of £15.50
Prescot Cables play in the Northern Premier League West Division. Prescot is a suburb of Liverpool, around 15 minutes outside of Lime Street. A crowd of 315, half seemingly with a pint in their hand(!) saw the home side win 2-1
Once again, multiple thanks to Mr Lardiman for his IT expertise. As Lardi pointed out, a large main stand, a bit run down, but loaded with character. This one is well worth going to @Ponders Revisited
