I could have predicted a result like today's. It was nailed on. Not because of Jack Ross. For that cobbled together Bolton team, this was always going to be a cup final.

They show that we created chances but didn't have the quality to score from them, that's down to the players not being good enough as it's the managers job to set the team up to make the chances, he can't score them himself.

I thought from the slating of the performance that we'd created bugger all but it's not true.

His choice out of the load of free transfers and bang average for this level signings at his disposal yeah, I personally don't blame him for the quality of the squad the manager usually isn't too involved with recruitment and there's been no money to spend after we spunked it all on Grigg.

Should have been more attacking for sure but we still managed 20 shots and hit the woodwork a couple of times I believe. Not the disaster it's being painted as imo.

They were mainly pot shots though mate. We weren’t creating clear chances and missing we were taking punts in panic.

About half of them came after we went behind.

Still though I think we hit the woodwork a couple of times and forced their keeper into some great saves. I'm not saying holy **** we were actually really good but it does suggest that the players let the manager down more than the other way round, to an extent.

The only starting to play after we go behind is a big problem and my biggest issue with Ross, I don't know why he can't sort it. The players seem willing to take direction off him but we always start in slow motion nonetheless. Frustrating.

As you can see I didn’t put a result down for this match as I would of been ridiculed by some of the lads on here but I think they are slowly beginning to learn what to expect when you support this shower.

In a way that’s a damning thing for Ross, you don’t get the impression the players are against him or he’s lost them, that just makes the ineptitude more concerning.

He’s got the players onside but still either they can’t follow instruction or aren’t up for it.

We can’t go on like this, it killed us last season we can’t allow it to drift again.

As it stands, we are not going up, that’s clear as day.

As I have not seen or heard any of the game and when I saw the stats you posted, it looks as if we were unlucky not to win.
Then RRs players ratings slate them.

It does look as if the 1-1 crown is still ours!

Never mind the stats, that was dreadful.

The crowd turned on Ross for the first time, singing 'sacked in the morning' at 0-0 ....

Yeah if your players aren't up to it quality wise, which imo ours aren't, it's up to the manager to get them pressing and play a high energy dynamic game. That's not happening and it never really has with Ross.

I like some things about him and I'm not convinced he needs to go but he's had time to fix that and it's not happened.

i love complaining then you coming on and slagging me off, it is a laugh man. Bolton were up for it and we have not been this season and still conceding goals, instead of Grigg a class defender should have been brought in.

Don't know if this was someone spouting BS on FB, but he claimed that he was next to Stuart Donald in the stand at Bolton when SD said "that's it, he's gone"

No way would an owner say that in hearing distance of a fan.

He likely is gone, but I doubt this happened mate <laugh>

It’s someone chatting **** then of/when he gets fired will claim he was ITK.

I doubt that’s Donald’s decision to make at this stage in the takeover anyway.

I've defended Jack since his start with us.
in an earlier post I said this was one match he had to win and do so convincingly and he's come up short, actually dreadfully short.
Lots of excuses about Bolton not having the kids in as earlier in the season which some clubs benefited from big style, but if we have serious ambitions these are the games we have to win comfortably and we've not done that all season.
I hate this swopping and changing managers but there is something lacking in the backroom staff if they can't get this squad delivering on a regular basis.
I'm not saying we should be winning every game but our inability to stop all these 1-1 draws is killing us and unfortunately the buck must stop with Jack Ross.
I've no idea who we would replace him with but something has to give and quickly.

I'm backing him. 5th in the league. 3 points off an automatic place. And we haven't really hit our stride yet.

People think he's dull because he's had to adapt to not having a decent striker since January.

He said some "nasty" things, which many of us have said on here, about the fans being negative.

I don't agree with the way he sets the team up sometimes but what do people really expect a new manager to do that's different between now and the January transfer window?

    Bruv <hug>

If he stays on and gets a bit of money to spend on a goalscorer etc then I'm confident he'd be good enough to take us up automatically. That's our problem in a nutshell, one forward looks like he's got PTSD and the other tries hard but is a very poor finisher.
