To some extent, I think he looked to be getting himself in tighter gaps in most of the first half and as a result was back to their goal, made much more of a difference when facing it. Maybe the change of personnel helped that too. His skill and sudden turn of pace could help create a lot over the season (I hope).
That was a bit poo wasn't it? Really need to learn how to play for a whole game. Fair play to Bournemouth, fully deserved and they should enjoy it. Undoubtedly the better team on the night. Ah well, Tuesday's the big one so let's make sure we don't **** that one up Saints. Please. Oh and that Westwood song is embarrassingly awful. It's actually shameful to hear so many singing it.
Being at the game gives you a better perspective and we were shocking. Their keeper made one save from a long range shot in the first half. Poor.
There has obviously been some issue between Bertie and Ralph, but the former has to be our #1 LB/LWB from now on.
I do think he got some defensive things wrong tonight.. not going to throw more toys around though. Hopefully he’ll see what went wrong and correct it. Some good stuff and some poor stuff.
It is indeed, and he hasn't scored, but he has had chances and not converted or made any assists that I am aware off!!! We bought him to score goals and he hasn't!!! When I am listening to commentary I hardly ever hear his name. I hope he scores soon and hoping that will be like flood gates opening, but until that happens
Guys, Bournemouth are a better side than us now. They've spent more money, more wisely. I'm normally the first to criticise if we deserve it, but that was a good game, and we were unlucky. Dont get Ralph's full back decisions, but it didn't cost us the game. Bournemouth defended and kept their shape very well. That's what cost us.
A Pelligrini performance, a Pelligrini result. Didn't think there was time for us to score right at the end. B'mouth thought there was and did.
It wasn`t an awful performance - we just weren`t clinical in the final third. They took their chances, we didn`t. We are a better counter-attacking team, but that wasn`t going to happen today.
Oh well, draw would of been more than fair. Thought Boufal was great second half, and yes, Berty at left back please. Good to have Redders back, played well too.
All those seasons you weren’t at games and argued with me!! Sometimes it does. Sometimes it doesn’t. I could easily argue that being at the game is more emotional and your view gets blurred by that. You just lose your sh1t so easily. I worry more right now about your blood pressure than I do Saints.
Think he thought that inverted FB's might help counter their inverted wingers. I'm not trying to justify his decision though, I'm just guessing what he might have been thinking that might have made even a sliver of sense. And I still feel like I'm reaching.
****ing hell. We lose 3-1 at home to Bournemouth and people are generally OK with it?? God help us if that's the score line every time we "play well" in the second half. The expectations these days are non existant.
