Exactly. It's a more measured approach and is actually more likely to yield the desired result. It doesn't cause major disruption to the football operation and provides continuity and a stable environment for those players that will be remaining with the club. Under the circumstances, yes. See above.
I actually like the sound of Eddie Howe I reckon he could be the man but my mate said he gets pretty home sick that’s why he went back to Bournemouth
Been saying this for a while, back room staff are worse than useless, Ross made his first mistake in getting shot of Robbie Stockdale he was the only one at the club who knew what he was doing, maybe thats why he was elbowed out.
So these people bringing in Dyche, who's worked well in the lower leagues, would mean they nothing about football?
If Dyche was available and would be willing to drop a couple of leagues..then no-brainer. What a statement of intent that would be
Like I said, the identification of those managers as targets looks to me like a naive bull-in-a-China-shop approach. The identify the best and pay them whatever approach rarely works in football- Will Grigg being a prime example. Dyche, has pedigree in the lower leagues but hasn't worked there for some time. Ross is working there now, understands the league and a more measured approach would be to finance an improvement of the squad. We're in a decent position which should be built on rather chucking everything up in the air. A change at this time is potentially disruptive. Bringing Dyche in the close season, if that's what they want to do, is potentially a step in the right direction Like I said, from what I've heard about them, I expected a more considered approach.
This would be less risky as long as whoever sourced Wyke and Grigg are no longer in charge of recruitment. Our buys under Ross's remit have been poor on the whole and this is the area that needs addressing most, after the coaching staff that is. You have identified the weaknesses in the team perfectly, We are not far away from a decent side at this level, maybe as few as two top class signings could give us a team with enough to make top two, if the right players were identified. The current squad and tactics will see us back at Wembley at best.
I think the problem with our signings for the most part has been that we've had bugger all to spend so it's been making do with the best of the free transfer market or bargain basement players like Dobson, probably more of them have worked out than I expected but yeah there have been mistakes made with our funds for sure. I thought Grigg would score for fun but there were lots who expressed doubts. One thing about having rich owners, we can set up a proper scouting network across the globe and pick up some gems.
Are you being serious, that's exactly how modern football works. If Ross understands the league why were we torn to shreds at Peterborough and second best to Rotherham at home? There's absolutely no progress and he's a dead man walking imo, I can't wait to see the back of him. Now that he's started having a pop at the supporters there's only one way this will go.
If this story has legs there's no mention on the clubs website and on the press conference shown by the club none of the journalists brought this subject up. However, Jack did say he understood that the new owners were keen to grow the club from within ( or words to that effect). We could be speculating about very little, but it keeps the interest going. I just want it done and announced so that we can relax and see where we go from here with whoever we have around to make that journey with us.
I'm deadly serious. And it doesn't work that at all. Identifying individuals who will fit into the existing structure is the way to go and most of the successful clubs, to a greater or lesser extent, adopt that approach. Particularly the clubs that we should be looking to emulate. We've been poor because the recruitment hasn't been good enough. That's down to Coton etc.
Going back to my concerns about our coaching staff, reading Sixers report ( on the Salut Sunderland site ) on our U21 game with the Boro., makes sombre reading and re-enforces my opinion on the current set up, if it is still there that is.
normally telling you to keep schtum is no good, he may as well have put a front page add in the echo.......
Bit of South American flair mate, maybe an Italian stallion or two or a six foot eight African at CB. Been a while since we signed anyone to get excited about seeing.
I couldn't possibly say. Nor could I say that Methven is currently awol and likely to leave the club. And I certainly can't comment on the rumour that Ashley handed us the Dell boys on a golden platter.
Methven AWOL assistant manager gone head coach gone, Ross on notice possibly Dych to be in, this load of money men not messing around they want to be in the big boys league asap. That magic carpet has made a stop over at the SOL bells ringing and all aboard, still ringing in the ears Man City 2 here we come.
