Not really. Amanda Staveley had set a company up in preparation to take over Newcastle. It does look very promising but it doesn't mean the ink is dry.

I understand the point but there is a difference.

She was dealing with Mike Ashley.

Ignore me, I always err on the side of pessimism when it comes to Sunderland. Like you've said, Amanda was dealing with Ashley and Stewie is looking to keep a share and stay on at the club. Completely different scenarios. My gut feeling tells me it's just going through the solicitors now but my heads tell me it's Sunderland and we'll fail the medical, at the last moment.

Donald has to push it through now. Can you imagine the meltdown if it falls through? Unless it's the EFL throwing a spanner in the works

I really can't believe how pessimistic some of our supporters are being with this takeover.

    "The EFL might block it."

After the Bury fiasco there's absolutely no chance they'll stop massive investment coming into a struggling L1 club.

"We had a billionaire American before so what's the point?"

These people have taken advice from football people and will only employ the best.

" Its alright having 4 billionaires but regulations will stop them spending. "

Nonsense, they'll find ways of improving every aspect of the club from top to bottom, and finance it by whatever means necessary.

This is a life changer and everyone needs to get on board. Ross will be replaced and we'll spend in January.

These people aren't here to spend years building a club from the bottom. They'll do that but behind the scenes and in conjunction with spending our way back to the PL as fast as possible.

Not sure if the efl thing was from me, but I wasn't been serious. I fully expect this to go through now. I was just imaging the twitter meltdown if something happened (not that something will)

It's not you mate, I'm just amazed at how blasé people are being.

It's as if some of them are trying to find get out clauses with the takeover.

It's been done for 2 weeks, the EFL have sanctioned it and it's going ahead.

It's cost them around £1 million to get this far with lawyers fees, flights, etc etc.

This next bit is a guess ...
Ross is currently our caretaker manager simply because there's no one else at the club who could step in. As soon as the new man is available Ross will be gone. Its the only way the new owners can have any impact and we desperately need a boost ... last night was a suicide note, Rotherham could easily have won.

Watching on SAFCSEE, we fell apart and they put the foot on the gas after the penalty miss...

very strange, I know momentum is big in sport but ffs...

Would be very harsh on Ross imo. unless we fall to pieces and lose a few games. We could have lost against Rotherham, but we could have also have won by a few goals. Penalty miss, Wyke pushed over in the box when O9 was going to square it to him, Wyke miss (mcnulty off injured)...

Loss to Peterborough was a lot more damaging, as long as we don't do that again then Ross should stay imo.

I think the 'Ross" issue is a matter of ....where do we want to be .....given the new circumstances. If we were still with Donald as owner then Ross would be a no-brainer. Not many high ranking managers would like to risk a reputation on a club in league 1 with very little to invest. Given our new owners...different story. I actually like Ross, given what he has had to cope with since he came here, he has done OK....But OK will not be enough for the new owners. In 3 months we have a new transfer window..do they want Ross or their man buying the players in that window. It's obviously there call, but as Smug as said, it has to be assumed they have done their homework and know a route forward for the club. Makes for exciting times ahead

The fact that players like McGeady stayed because of Ross needs to be taken into account imo, stability vs change. Big decision for the new owners... As you say exciting times, whatever may be.

Was that because of Ross? I think it was more for the club itself.

I’d say he’s got until Christmas and I’d imagine the new owners make it clear where we are expected to be at that point.

I’ll support him until it’s clear he’s not the man. For all the concerns we can’t say he’s definitely not right at this point, the players do turn up, it’s just a bit sketchy.

Donald stated that McGeady stayed because of Ross. How true that is, or if it was the main /only reason....

    I've had enough now.

He blew umpteen leads last season including two at Wembley.

Peterborough was a disgrace, last night was awful and we've won a third of the last 30 games.

Grigg has only failed to score, at this level, with us.

I'm starting to wonder if McGeady is unbalancing the team and Ross's tactics tbh.
