No it as leading up to Allardyce joining. We hadn’t come from behind to win a game for ages before big Sam

⁷ Frankly I like Big Sam... but I doubt that he should return, he should stay in the villa that the mags paid for when they sacked him ... if Ross keeps us in the top 4-6 for the next few months it's unlikely that he would be sacked, but say 10 losses in a row or the equivalent would see his job in peril...
if we suffered 3 losses in a row in this league his job would be in peril. 5 on the bounce and he'd be out.
I would be aghast if we sacked Ross and appointed Big Sam, his leaving was at the time a devastating blow to the club, but expensive and controversial characters we can do without, we need stability and a manager who will build and develop, a sustainable team. Crash and burn days are hopefully over, leave that avenue to others, we might not have to look to far to see it in action, if that's your bag. .
Yeah I suppose 10 is generous.. Just looking at the table, Peterborough and Ipswich have great goal difference...something in several months time could be important.. Stresses the need not to let up..
At least double the rest. Important indicator this. Last year's goal diff: Luton 48 Barnsley 41 Charlton & Sunderland 33 And the year before: Wigan 60 Blackburn 42 Shrewsbury 21 And Ipswich have only conceded 4 goals. Strong support for folks on here calling for Ross to press.
Good win yesterday. Got things back on track after the Peterborough game. With right mentality and application we should walk this league. Certainly got the players to do it. New owners come on board then it should be wow time over the next few years. I think we all deserve it after the last few....
Bolton game could be a good indicator. If we become just about the first team not to get five, maybe questions need to be asked, not necessarily about our ability to score, but whether mentally we can destroy others
Goal difference could be a key factor this season and we need to improve ours dramatically, we have dominated very few games under Jack Ross. Yes a win is a win, but going into the last quarter with every game in the balance is a draining on fans and players. The one advantage we have is our bench, but unless we get into a position where we can sub key players without risk, it is wasted and we are going to struggle again at the back end of the season.
Despite what league we are in, its a nice change being involved in balanced games, rather than getting constantly soundly beaten by sides who are a lot better than us.
Peterborough have scored nine without reply in their last two home games, they have been in good form for a while and I was a bit surprised at the reaction to our defeat down there. our fans seem not to consider teams we play against who are in better form than ourselves and give them some credit. the Bolton situation is a strange one as their earlier games they had to play kids and teams benefited from that I just hope they don't start gelling on Saturday which would just be our luck.
GD could always be massive though - (not a dig just using your post to make a point) I think we should be pushing to be points clear - if we win every game 5-4 our GD will not be the best but we'll win the league and I'm happy with that. That said - we do need to develop the mentality to put teams ot the sword - as you say - gives the opportunity to pull key players away from the game using the subs- to simply score and keep scoring instead of scoring and sitting back would be lovely!!!. Easy to say as a fan mind but I guess not as easy to implement
to simply score and keep scoring instead ofscoring and sitting back would be lovely!!!. That would be the only way for me We’ve tried the other now let’s get on with it
They were the team I said would be fighting us and Ipswich, I said on the match day thread a draw would be a good result there. I was disappointed with 3-0 of course but it was always a game we could lose, hence personally I wasn’t massively upset about it.
