Brilliant for all of us. Being in exile this is the first thing to occur to me

To the tune of 'Farke Life'

All the plastics, so many plastics,
We all go down the pub with our heads held high
    Farke Life

Mind you - went for breakfast things in our village today early morning met someone proudly sporting a Norwich shirt - now there are two canaries in my Oxfordshire village!!!

Did you know? In their win over Man City, Buendia won more duels (10), had the joint-most touches (61) and tackles (4), completed the most dribbles (5) and won possession (9) more than any other Norwich player.

Did you know? Todd Cantwell has already been directly involved in more Premier League goals in 5 games this season (4 - 2 goals, 2 assists) than he was in 24 Championship appearances last season (3 - 1 goal, 2 assists).
IMO, TC is almost unrecognisable from last season.

Edit - hope you don't mind Dave!!

Norwich City: 'Man City upset typical of Canaries' bold approach'
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49703750
Farke effectively had to conduct a head count before the game after he crossed off the names of eight players ruled out through injury. No-one would have known as Norwich refused to feel sorry for themselves and accept they were doomed in the face of Manchester City's riches and quality, instead producing a performance that was true to themselves and their manager.
Farke dismissed suggestions he would go on the defensive, with early observations of Norwich's attacking approach suggesting it would leave them vulnerable to sides of greater quality, as proved by the 4-1 loss at Liverpool and the 3-2 home defeat by Chelsea. He has not taken Norwich this far to forsake his principles now and this was a 95-minute advert for why those of us who tipped them for relegation may yet be ordering a large helping of humble pie in May.

Whilst I was as elated as everyone on here with our result against Man City, we shouldn't lose sight of the fact that the result only earned us 3 points, the same as the Newcastle game and any other game we may win going forward. What the result should give us is a belief that perhaps the squad has more quality in depth than most of us thought and a confidence going forward. In terms of team spirit, the clubs faith in how we play and our willingness to be brave, most of us didn't learn much from Saturday. Anyone that had more than a cursory knowledge of our performances over the last 12 months should not have been at all surprised by the character and attitude we displayed. The result maybe the highlight of our season, it is not going to determine where we finish, the results of games against the likes of Burnley, Palace, Villa & Bournemouth will. I think most of us would have been more than happy with 6 points from the first 5 games, I know I would have been. If we can maintain this rate we will finish the season with 46 points, more than enough, I suspect, to keep us up.

Spot on canario and as you rightly say - it is only 3 points - but points that no one would have predicted.
As someone posted on MFW this morning, last season really kicked off after the first International break and seeing the belief in EVERY player on Saturday evening, I certainly wouldn't bet against a similar outcome.
The defence was the most solid I have seen it - what may the team be capable of when we have another fit CB and Amadou in midfield???

Edit - some of Krul's saves were excellent!!! <ok>

Last season, after 5 games, we had 4 points. We are already two points better off. The Mayors header was very much a training ground move, brilliantly executed by Emi and himself. Watched the highlights so many times already.

Yes it is just 3 points, but it's also 3 very unexpected points which is a huge bonus. The players are always saying that they want to play against the best and they don't get much better than ManCity. Not only did they stand toe to toe with the best, they beat them and that will bring a huge boost in confidence for all concerned, but especially to those who have been waiting for their chance, like McLean, Tettey, Byram and Amadou. They must be buzzing. With the injuries we have, had we lost that game, it would be 4 losses in a row and that would sap strength and belief. Instead, we go into the next four games full of confidence and fighting spirit, 3 points above the relegation zone and in mid table on merit.

If a team costing over £400m can't execute zonal marking effectively from corner kicks, as scrutinised quite heavily on MOTD on Saturday, then what hope do we have <yikes>
Let's revert to man marking forthwith <ok>
Bullet header from the mad dog, from a precision delivery by EB, having said that. <applause>

After that display with Zimmermann and Klose out until 2020 , I can't see Handley and Aarons usurping the majestic Amadou and Byram.

Amadou just oozes quality and calmness and Byram looked better at defending than Max , being a bit taller helps from crosses.

I'm just praying Saturday's 11 carry on where they left off and don't get hospitalised.
