I wouldn’t be so harsh on Hugill His movement is good and he clearly gets the best out of Wells I would not say he was a donkey He was the more obvious substitution though Sure his shots will get better with a few more games and better fitness He was gagging for a goal yesterday once the others had Just enjoy him and Wells together while we can They look like they enjoy playing with each other The sub who came on is nothing They already realise they need two goals each per game for us to get promotion Does anyone still have Smithies mobile Number?
It is worth reading this report to relive the memories of the match again. I thoroughly recommend it! https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/queensparkrangers/news/50868//?scrollto=post65715
Hugill's hold-up play is very good, but his finishing is abysmal. Wells is a much better player in my opinion. However, them seem to work well together, so we should continue to play both. Mlakar looks very ordinary.
Hugills finishing was poor 2nd half Saturday and of course when he missed from a yard or two recently, but otherwise pretty good, on 5 goals from 7 isnt he, was level top scorer in the Championship before Saturday I think, so not abysmal at all and a donkey he ain't. Also his and Wells movement 1st half Saturday were making a lot of space for Eze an Chair in particular. I didn't reckon much to Wells as he played for us last season often alone up top, yet he rarely got in the box. Playing off Hugill he is much, much better, the 3 5 2 accommodates them both, and they are good together. I've seen bits from Mlakar too that suggest he could be a good back up for Wells, a few more inhops and a goal or two will do him wonders.
Another long and stressful weekend at work made all the better by a great result. From the highlights I’ve seen we looked sometimes sublime going forward and able to cut through defences like a knife through butter, countered by some poor defending and a goalkeeping howler that was almost schoolboy level leading to some squeaky bum time in the second half. A win is a win and ain’t gonna be too harsh on Lumley, he’ll learn from his mistake and thank his lucky stars it didn’t cost us 3 points....
Last year was his first in the Championship. Less than 10 games in and he is a £10 mill player? Come on, give the boy a chance - a real chance to prove he can be a £10 mill player by letting him play and learn his trade at QPR. We have previously been known as a club that picked up rough diamonds and turned them into something sparkly. SLF, Andy Sinton to name two ex players that know exactly what sort of platform the R's can provide. I only hope, that when Eze has a dud game he doesn't get a shed load of abuse from those that are currently looking at him as an asset we should sell.
