Ah, that's where he gets it from a decent schooling. Quite a few Managers started here, Monk, Tisdale off the top of my head.
Not many comments on Maya. I thought he did ok yesterday. I really like Vestergaard the character but I think his immobility is part our defensive issues. A ball behind him turns into a throw on near our goal, a corner of a pressure situation. Even in his best game (United) we should have been 3 or 4 down before we started to defend bravely. I’d like to see Danso, Maya, Bednarek if we play three CBs. That gives us more mobility.
Yeah having seen their penalty shout it's a perfect example of what I was talking about the other week, players challenging for the same cross playing by different rules. Mental.
Agreed. It's often a useful mirror when you read other forums, hopefully it makes one occasionally think before sharing your wisdom. It must be hard work to live in a world where you're always right, despite the evidence, while regressing to playground behaviour when challenged. I thought JWP was just honing his skills for the Pompey game, he can be a naughty boy.
I accept that, but swapping a man with his pace and trickery, at a time when he was buzzing, for a slower striker who seems happy to drop back into midfield rather than push onto the shoulder of the last man, helped alleviate the pressure and allow them to push higher up the pitch. As someone has already alluded, maybe he was taken off because of his previous injury.
I could watch that goal all day, just what we need to steal the points from these types of games. Love it when a plan comes together. Adam's so close to a goal too, poor fella! Love our options, but want to see Danso in the back four/five/three.
I think you could be right. I like the look of Danso, and Boufal is clearly reinvigorated under a decent coach. Moussa is clearly showing us what he can do offensively, and hopefully a goal will bring Adams on.
Me and my lad drove up to the game yesterday, along with his mate who is a Blades fan. First away game ive been to for a while and i really enjoyed it, thought it was a good end to end game. Our defence was a dodgy as usual apart from Gunn who was superb, what a good young gk he is. Going forward we were good most of the time and seeing Adams close up shows what a grafter that boy is, he was unlucky yesterday but surely its only a matter of time before he scores, he won us a few corners by good persistence. Great goal to win the game !
The Sheffield United fan who commented that we celebrated like we'd won the league and called it embarrassing is unaware that this is all part of acknowledging the fans and getting them onside...as initiated by Ralph. It feels like you've won the league after the recent struggles we've had....3 points are pure gold.
Thought we were great, first match in ages vs. a promoted side where you could tell we were the more established PL side. We knocked it around really well, Cedric and Yoshida had great games, and Boufal and Djenepo are a class above. Adams was so unlucky. Feels really amazing to have players that can get you off your seat again.
Cedric did pretty well defensively yesterday. I reckon it was because he took that early whack in the head from the ball. Dazed him a bit and got his positional sense back
For those who like me first heard about the result yesterday evening, and haven't really seen any more of the match apart from the few minutes of MOTD, here's Footballorgin with the entire match: https://www.footballorgin.net/sheff...-full-match-premier-league-14-september-2019/
