I was at the Sunday Sessions when Noel said about how Man City were going to absolute smash us at Carrow Road! :emoticon-0136-giggl

Judging by DF's post-match reaction (Pink Un video), he must read this forum. Sends a message to all those pressing the panic button pre-match and doubting his players and his strategy. As the media headlines shout, "Fortune favours the brave"; bit more bravery needed here in some cases methinks! <laugh>

There were more votes in the MDT poll for a Reading win than a Norwich win <whistle>

Gary's article is brilliant. I liked this bit:

"Yet it wasn’t about us. It was about thirteen heroes. It was about Daniel Farke and his team. And it was about a club that’s united, from the top of the tree down to its roots. This was David vs Goliath, except David turned up with a sprained ankle and his arm in a sling. Man City, as the 5hit and the fan threatened to collide, turned to their bench and brought on Kevin De Bruyne, Gabriel Jesus and Riyad Mahrez. Our bench had two goalkeepers on it and a lad who has never kicked a Premier League ball in his life. The cost of their starting XI was £406 million. Ours was £6.5 million. Their ‘cheapest’ player was Gundogan who cost them £21 million. We included two players who were ‘free’ and two academy products."

DF found the perfect balance between attack and defence and our attackers were clinical in the extreme. It was like the Alamo at times, but always under control with good defensive cover and movement. Just brilliant all around!

I know it means very little, but interestingly transfermarkt has bumped up a load of our player values. A couple of interesting ones: Buendia by far and away our most valuable player, worth well more than Maddison was when we sold him. And Lewis and Godfrey are both valued at more than Aarons. Aarons has played well, but have to say I agree with those validations as Godfrey and Lewis seem to have excelled since making the step up

Just looking through the score predictions and seeing our own people predicting sixes and sevens against us. I went for 1-3 and, in retrospect, I must admit that was more in hope than expectation. I kind of consoled myself with the belief than Teemu would get one even though we would lose. But things just seem to get better. I must admit that when I saw our first five fixtures I mentally wrote of Liverpool, Chelsea and Citeh. Realistically those five games offered one or two points, maybe three if we got lucky, four would have been dreamland.

Today we sit mid table with six points with nine goals scored and only one of those games having drawn a blank. I said before a ball was kicked that our support must not waver whatever happened. Whilst I would have been disappointed had we been without a single point this morning that wouldn't have changed. We gave a team and a manager as well as owners who deserve that support.

I have not been at all upset by the media coverage. We expected to see this match portrayed as a failure by our opponents rather than a success by us. That hasn't been the case, from Ian Wright on MOTD to the front page of The Sunday Times that is fulsome in it's praise, we have had fair treatment for a change. No doubt Lawro will predict a defeat for us for the sixth time this season, he is just making himself look an idiot, although admittedly Teemu needs another four goals from 33 games to disprove that prediction.

I really enjoy the MFW articles and they offer a different view to the Archant scribed. How Gary must have enjoyed writing that particular article and I know he witnessed the 2nd half onslaught first hand, as he did in the River End. I must admit that the worst I felt we'd get was a draw and as DDF said in his match report if any of us had been offered that prior to kick off, 'we'd have snapped their hand off!!'
I'm looking forward to seeing the goals again on MotD 2.

We have six points from our first five games having played the Champions League winners, the Europa Cup winners and the Premier League champions and FA Cup holders - not a bad start eh ? Keep it going boys, we are all right behind you. OTBC.

What a game, what an atmosphere, went expecting a drubbing from Man City came home feeling ecstatic after our fantastic victory - If you cannot beat the champions of Europe, go and beat the Premier League Champions instead .

Were you in the Regency Stand? I was in the Upper Tier of the Regency Stand behind the goal near the back. I usually try to get South Stand but by the time I got to my place in the queue on the website the south stand was full

Great article by PD - Carrow Road has witnessed special moments, special players, special wins. But few, if any, can have been achieved through such adversity or in a din so intense, so sustained it felt like there was electricity in the air. For a spell in a frenetic final quarter every challenge, every interception, every clearance was greeted with a deafening roar.
All four sides of the stadium reverberated with noise and passion and pride in the men in yellow and green.
A rag bag collection of free transfers, callow youth, lower level journeymen
and a head coach who learnt his craft in German regional football.
