Had to chuckle at the commentator when Origi goes down for the second time......'ominous for Liverpool this' he said.

Meanwhile on the bench, Bobby is putting his shirt on <laugh>

with how thin our squad depth is , excepting MF , any injury is a worry considering how many games we are hoping to pack in this season .

This is my concern. I think that Shaq will get some game time now.....not sure where Brewster is after pre season where he seemed to struggle with the physical nature of Klopps pre season training.

These are the sort of games that we'd have struggled with in the past. We'd have kept passing the ball across the pitch about 25yds out hoping for a gap to open up. These days we have more ideas about how to break down this type of defence.

We are on an altogether different level with an on-form Firmino. I'd like to think we'd have turned this game around and won without him, but he just makes things happen.

The first half hour showed we will lose some cohesion without Bobby in the team. He looked rather burnt out towards end of last season and had that injury at Utd. Hopefully he can be managed better this year to maintain fitness but not to the deteriment of the team if he is missing.

Failing that - Wjnaldum at false 9!

I think we did very well today and lost because we ****ed up more than Liverpool were at their best which is frustrating. I really feel we could've got a point out of that game, but in reality I expected far worse . well played and fair play to Liverpool they responded well and deserved the win. enjoy the season lads. im now off to pretend I don care about football .

Pleased with today, Bobby sublime, poor in first 25 minutes but good enough after that. Original injury was a negative but happy enough with that result

Not much else can be said about firmino. He’s just in a different level to everyone else atm. It’s a shame as he won’t get the same recognition because he doesn’t score as many goals but don’t see anyone playing better than him this season so far tbh.

Im guessing it’s been mentioned a few times but I’ve not read any comments, but what’s the point in var if it’s not gonna overturn an obvious pen? Guy had his arms round Matips neck and dragged him down to the floor <doh>

Why is that a shame? I think it's great.

The longer he goes under the radar, the longer we're spared the incessant transfer bids in the media (made up by the media) that we see for the likes of Mo.
However, he's been particularly sharp so far this season, and people are finally noticing what we've been seeing for a while now.

I loved bobby since he arrived but to be fair, he has been inconsistent over the years.

This could be the season where he finally shows the consistency to be considered in the elite level.

It’s all coming off for him - dribbling past players, the flicks, the tricks. The intelligence and movement is still at the same level.

    Remarkable footballer.

When he plays in between the defence and midfield he can be Bergkamp-esue. I've made the comparison with John Lennon's rhythm guitar in the past - take it away, and you realise that the whole uniqueness of the sound depends on it; and so it is with Bobby. And Mane - best player to wear the shirt since Suarez? I think so.

Great start, but we're not a seventh of the way through yet. We had a seven point lead last January - nobody won the league in September. We'll see where we are next Sunday, because that Chelsea team has some fine players in it. I suspect their heads will drop if we get two up, but that's a bloody big if.

Love Bobby and Mane, they are truly superb in almost every department.

And as you say, bloody long way to go yet. I'd live to say I can't believe people are getting carried away already but it's not surprising in this day and age, ridiculous though.
