The Lumley error was the pivotal point in the game.

We were much less effective afterwards whilst Luton gained confidence. Then we gave away a very early goal in the second half and Luton sensed blood or more precisely “points”!

But we did well to hang in! But only just!

Breathless stuff. The best 30 minutes of football I've seen from a QPR side in many years. Followed by a ludicrous crisis of confidence after a comedy goalkeeping error (how many of those is Lumley alowed?) which made a well average Luton side look almost exciting in the second half.

My first doubts about Warburton today:
    • Someone decided to take the foot of the gas after half an hour and while it took Lumley's cock-up to get Luton back in it we were never able to get back in the groove afterwards.
    • The substitutions were poor choices and inneffective. In particular it was Hugill who was fading whereas Wells continued to look sharp but the latter got hooked and the former proceeded to blast chance after chance over the bar. Why take off Chair when he was the only one who looked able to break up the Luton posession in the second half? And Amos looks way too volatile to use in a backs-to-the-wall situation.

Talk about a game of two halves, or maybe three thirds! We were sensational for the first 30 minutes and could easily have been six up. Briilliant passing and movement that Luton just couldn't live with. Then the **** up gifted them a goal and their heads lifted as ours dropped. I thought their second was offside and after that we were hanging on all of a sudden. Even so we should have scored more goals. Today confirmed for me what I had already suspected - Wells is a far better finisher than Hugill, who looked like a Sunday morning centre forward. Altogether a thoroughly entertaining game and some sublime stuff from Eze, who was my MOM.

Wells really looks the biz again, if he keeps his confidence up it'll be happy days. Warburton got some work to do to get the lads mentally toughened up but my god it feels good to finally have a team performing positively. Just proves you don't have to spunk a load of money at it.

Just landed. Was 3:2 when we took off so very pleased to learn of the result as two goals gave them momentum. And we are 7th! Just slightly shy of miraculous!

What's that 3 league wins on the spin.......why bother with a clean sheet when you can simply score more than the opposition.....

    Life's grand....

Carry on like this and we'll have some entertainment this season...

Went to my first game this season today which for me is unusual. Had an absolutely brilliant day. There were about 20 Irish lads on the flight heading over including Kingdom Hoop and his lovely Grandson. The Grandson was sitting next to me on the flight and made me laugh the whole way over with his witty stories, thanks Ronan if you read this lol.

Before the game, I went to see my Grandad's grave in St Mary's Cemetary Kensal Green. Only my second visit there but I brought two of my siblings who were making their first visit. It was a nice moment for us as none of us got to know the man as he moved to London before we were born so lots of emotion from all of us.

Got to the Bush later than we hoped but managed to get a couple of quick pints in the Conny and made our way into what seemed like a battlefield. Long time since I seen such a big security presence around our ground. What a first half performance from the R's. We were ooohhh'ing and aaahhh'ing at half time. Every single one of our players was scintillating. As somebody else said, a long time since we have played so well. Chair and Eze in particular were outstanding. I would hope otherwise but think both of them will be sold in Janaury if our finances require. Then we started subbing the players who had played so well the whole game. Felt particularly sorry for Nakki as he was desperate to get his hat trick and every time he went near goal, it looked like he would score. Hugill on the other hand had some clear cut chances and he kept hitting his shots too high. With all the subs, we seemed to lose our momentum and slowly but surely Luton came more into the match. I must say, they are a really decent side to watch and will take lots of points off better teams than us in this league. We managed to hang on and took the 3 points which places us in the top 7 of the league. Don't mention the P word and lets keep a low profile and see where this takes us but the signs are hugely encouraging that we will be a top half team this season, at the very least.

As we were flying back from Gatwick, the all-Ireland gaelic football final replay was taking place and we arrived to the very welcome news that my beloved Dublin had completed a historic 5 wins in a row. The first time any team has achieved this feat. As the song says, oh what a perfect day. I'm glad I spent it with you.

Agree with everything you say except your motm, for me, I would give it to Chair today. Thought he was brilliant and was shocked when he was taken off.

Yes, Chair was very good too, but Eze is more of a threat on goal. He could easily have had a hat-trick today. We're blessed to have two such talented players in the same side.

I missed Eze's opener due to Hammersmith Bridge being closed. This meant that the choice was Chiswick or Putney and with Fulham playing at home I opted for Chiswick. Grim. For ****s sake a major capital city can't find the money to repair it but still has pot loads to build cycling lanes and speed bumps everywhere. Two hours to travel 14.8 miles!

It was like watching City or Barcelona for the first thirty minutes, it felt like being in an alternative reality. What's happened to QPR? This has come from nowhere on the evidence of the last five years or so. Who would've thought that such a churn of players could 'gel' so quickly to think that I was watching the Ajax team of the 70's? The football was suberb especially Eze. And then Lumley happened and had a brain fart and allowed Luton back into the game. It was very unenjoyable from then on. The second half was difficult but in retrospect showed that we could do both sides of the game, the beauty and the beast.

Three points earned in a game I thought we would lose after 48 minutes and probably would've in previous seasons.

Keep it up Warbs Rangers hopefully it keeps on growing, there are seeds of optimism being planted. Who on earth would think that you could acommodate Eze and Chair in the same side in any division let alone the Championship?

Warburton has generally “upped” the temp and team with his substitutions to date very well and has been extremely effective.

It did not work this time and his opposite number was clearly more effective in the result. However, I would not classify this as “doubts on MW”.

The lesson to be learned after building a first half lead (for a welcome change) is how to shore up, be more robust and the hit on the break. Perhaps we should have moved to 4-2-3-1 formation?

Possibly, although if this is to be the case, then I hope we get a very good deal with add-ons. If we can then fill the player pipeline with even even better quality players, then so be it.

However, I hope get we may convince Eze that he still had much more to develop and may further grow at the R’s. If we can keep him next season and let him mature with us, then it may be a great win-win for both parties as well as the fans.

Perhaps the R’s may develop so well that he may see mid term future with us?
