What a great day. Easy journey to Meadowhall, free tram ride and great match. In my ignorance I thought Moussa was not doing much for the team, because he was all over the place, chasing the ball. Then he scored that great goal. Somehow I missed the sending off, only found out about it on the tram back to the car. The SU fan I was talking to told me, also thought our forwards were the best he had seen at home this season. Expect us to thrash Bourms.
Liverpool must be loving a 5 point lead over Man City after only 5 games (but must be a bit nervous that we're only 8 points behind them)
I'm assuming it was a calculated risk to protect him post injury with the hope that we could hold out. But agreed, I can see him being taken off again in the future and momentum turning. Those players who physically endure the most who might need to be taken off towards the end, quite often have the biggest impact and you feel their loss. It's a tricky one.
Win our next two local derby games and it will be the happiest and most optimistic I have been since finishing 6th and qualifying for the EL looking forward with Ron.
We play two free sprits in Boufal and Djenepo, no recognised left back, yet still win away and keep another clean sheet. Building momentum, grinding out results, yet still being entertaining. Ralph knows what he is doing.
Something is clearly wrong with the refs. Lee Mason was very good today! That's at least 2 decent referees, we have had this season!!!
I got in about 30 minutes ago, and just 5 minutes ago I thought, "hang on, Saints played today." And bloody hell, I found out they won as well. Just seen Djenepo's goal. Blimey, that was a bit tasty. That's what I like to see.
Imagine what it might be like after a couple of more transfer windows and has entirely the squad he wants.
Can't fault Ralph for what he has done for us and I do think he is a great manager, hut I do sometimes question his tactics...
With respect he is an experienced and fairly successful professional coach that works with that player everyday in training so if he is in a better position to judge a player's capabilities than anybody else.
Whilst what you say is factually correct, it clearly doesn't always work out that way otherwise no manager would ever make a mistake. It'd be great if he proved me wrong, but I would bet a lot of money that Djenepo has no future as a wing back! He is a forward and is not only more effective when played in his position but he is also a weak link defensively.
