I wont pretend I know the figures so will take your word for that. I'm not sure how much goes out and how much goes in but what I would love to know is how much of that 9 billion would be swallowed up in countering the effects, will any of ot generate down to those most affected. Will it ****.
To be fair Bob, I had to look it up. As I’ve said before, one step at a time....in the end we’ll get there.
The way I see it is as following. Bearing in mind I didnt vote in the referendum (my mistake). The government publish their own documents regarding leaving with no deal. There is nothing beneficial (that I've seen) in these papers. Why would a Government who want to leave the EU publish something, regardless of what case scenario, that would damage their own agenda. Yes I know they were forced to by Parliment. So either, the Government is absolutely full of **** and not to be trusted OR what they say is actually likely to happen. How any reasonable brain that uses logic cant understand that is bizarre. You're either backing a government absolutely lying or backing making the country worse off. Strange times.
The Americans want to sell more into our market, sure. And we want restrictions removed on our goods over there. Win/win. Th EU loses out if it imposes huge tariffs. We buy from them more than we import. Their loss. They don't want a successful economy on their doorstep, and their waking up to the fact there's nothing they can do about it. The more barriers they put up, the more we take our purchasing business elsewhere
I’m interested... Is there anybody here that voted Leave that now would only do so if it was not a ‘no deal’ departure? And... Is there anybody here that voted Remain that, whilst not in support of a ‘no deal’ departure, believes that the result of the 2016 Referendum should still be honoured? I thought Stan (who’s currently gone to ground) was in the latter camp, but I shouldn’t answer for him. If the EU is largely intransigent over the terms of the deal offered to May, but the UK parliament has rejected those terms, and terms agreeable to the UK parliament (whatever such terms might actually be) are rejected by the EU, then what is the right answer if one still supports Leave? I know the Remainers here will only be satisfied with remaining in the EU, but is it their contention that Leavers should go **** themselves. Presumably this is Frome’s contention as apparently all Leavers are “****ing idiots”. I’m surprised at Frome here as he’s usually a respectful individual. I guess that’s his passion coming out.
Only if we get the Chinese in to build it, it’s taken our lot 5 ****ing years just to repair an existing bridge less than a mile long.
I voted Remain, and would vote Remain again if there was a second referendum. Not out of a love for the EU, but more out of distrust for what pile of ****e Westminster would land us up with, as has been seen over the last three years. It's different up here, we don't have the huge issue of immigration (where I live has the lowest ethnic population in the UK), taking back control for us would mean giving more power to Holyrood, and Europe is mainly generous with their handouts to businesses and farmers here. However, I do respect the result of the original referendum, but we have to leave on terms that are favourable to the whole nation, not just the hard-liners who are happy to stick two fingers up to the EU and land us with No-Deal. A Norway or Canada style deal would suit me, would solve the issues of the Irish border and would probably be enough to keep the Union together for another decade or so (it's inevitable that it will break up, unless Brexit turns out to be some wonderful paradise where we are all bathing in gold...). A few tweeks to either of those treaties and I think the majority of us would be happy - not all, but most. The current impasse must be broken, but I'm ****ed if I know how. Boris is a dangerous man, with Cummings' hand up his arse like a finger puppet, and his appointment has made matters worse in my opinion. I'm hoping some magic fairy drops a perfect deal on his desk and we can get on with our lives and forget this sorry pile of ****e.
I can't see us leaving on October 31. I know Boris keeps repeating that, but he has yet to come up with any cunning plan, so I don't see him getting out of the so called Surrender Bill. Then we'll have a GE, probably December. If Boris is wise and does a deal with the Brexit Party, I could see us finally leaving in Feb. I still think with a deal, agreed at the 11th hour
Gotta be as ruthless as them Stroller, sorry if it offends but I get called all sorts on here by them and it’s my opinion that if you can dish it out you should be able to take it.
