In the last month my laptop keeps updating (I'm on windows 10) The first time it did this I went to get my files and folders on my desktop and **** all was there. What it had done is put everything onto One Drive. I ****ing hate all this I'm quite happy at sorting my own stuff out and have my own filing system. It even got rid of all my chrome stuff like bookmarks etc.

I know I'm an oldish bugger but I ain't stupid. So I stopped updates for a month. This morning it said error on my screen and said windows needs to shut down and restart. Guess what all my stuff had disappeared again.

I thought it was me who bought this machine and it does what I want, but ohhh nooooo? some ****er tells me whats best Only thing a bloody cloud is good for is ****ing rain and shade.

Is anyone else having the same problem or coming across this. Is there owt I can do to regain control?

Yes I did swear at the bloody thing.

My MacBook Pro has started to do the same.... removing the files I hold & putting them all on the cloud...

    I consider it theft!!

You can turn off automatic uploads/syncs. Personally I wouldn't use one drive, I use Google Drive and File Stream, so much easier and less hassle.

As for getting your files back, have they definitely gone? Or did you delete them once they'd been uploaded?

I use Google Drive too and prefer it to One Drive.
