They managed to get 25,114 to that game, so must have also been giving them away in Tesco, Sainsbury's, Lidl, Morrisons, Waitrose and M&S as well.
Asda were the sponsors. You could pick as many up as you liked at the till free of charge. How many would they get for a RL Under 21 international on a mid week night if you had to pay ?
I can't remember who we played, was it the Ukraine? We were singing City songs and in a brief lull some idiot started to chart "Iron Iron", that was followed by a scream and the idiot being dragged out onto the concourse. Actually it was Serbia wasn't it.
It was the Netherlands in Feb 2004. Was a great game from memory, we won 3-2 with a Darren Bent last minute winner. The Serbia and Montenegro game drew 24,004 in June 2003, which I think was the record attendance when it took place.
Pretty sure clubs affiliated with East Riding FA can claim 15 free tickets or priced at £1 or something like that, imagine they will be in the blocks which don’t appear available online?
