I know Man Utd fans have a weird chip on their shoulder about Sunderland, based on Man Utd fans celebrating their winning the league at the Stadium of Light...right up until Aguero put The Sheikh Mansour Team ahead in injury time, to which the Sunderland fans took the piss out of them

Has nobody told them that it was more than just Sunderland fans taking the piss out of them for this?

Bit of both. Bournemouth is due to their fans smashing the place up in 1990. 104 arrests.

I’m always ‘pro-Rangers’ when it comes to the old firm derby but that video of the Rangers fan saying “how’s your sister?” to Scott Brown is messed up (for those that may not know, Brown’s sister died of cancer when she was 21). Amazed Brown to didn’t even try launching one at him, I reckon the police would’ve let one hit slide as well if he did.

Hopefully a fellow Rangers fan gave him a slap or two off camera because you could tell no one was impressed by it.

Not much shocks me these days but that was beyond disgusting.

The reaction of Scott Brown as well, he didn’t even look angry, he looked broken and in disbelief. I’m not his biggest fan but my heart went out to him when I saw that.

I'd be more pissed off about it if I was a Rangers supporter than I would be if I supported Celtic.
You just made your fellow fans sound like a bunch of ****s. Well done, mate. <ok>

There's a line with this sort of thing and mocking someone's young sister dying of cancer is so far past it that it may as well not exist.
I hope that he's identified and dealt with appropriately.

Apparently it was a 15yr old boy who did it, he has been named and shamed and will probably be banned from Ibrox for life now.

Sometime you can say things in the heat of the moment in anger but that comment is despicable no matter what age you are.

Probably thought that he was trolling, like he was online. Time for him to learn the difference.

The PL are looking into whether Aston Villa's sale of their stadium (to a separate company also owned by the football club owners) breaches FFP. I know that Derby pulled the same stunt but ****ed up the play off.

If it doesn't, it bloody should.

It's against the intention of the rules (if not expressly stated), intended to implement proper financial governance. Given the recent failures of Bury and Bolton, encouraging clubs to sell their one major asset is just ****ing nuts and any owner who implements such a move isn't a fit and proper person to own a club, no matter how rich they are.

You'd think The FAckwits would've implemented rules like this after Palace's troubles getting Selhurst Park back from Ron Noades

...and for some reason Simon Jordan doesn't like being reminded that he was the main source of most of those troubles

These owners want to be bigger than the game....only ones who suffer, naturally, are the fans. But who cares about them?

I see Sunderland v Burton was cancelled because of international calls. I had no idea Burton had so many international players in their team.

Watford! That takes me back. I remember seeing Tommy Harmer and Cliff Holton playing for them one afternoon
I also drove to Watford one night,or tried to. I lost my way and stopped a sports car coming out of a pub to direct me. The driver rolled down the window.....it was "Danger Man" himself, stinking of booze!......and he sent me the wrong way!!! Missed the game....thank you Patrick McGoohan!!!!!!!

Nice pubs out there. A lady friend took me to a beautiful pub. Can't remember the name now.I think it was near Addison (?) a few miles from Watford. She took me for a walk through the woods and came out by this road with a big house opposite. She said it belonged to Peter Sellars.

It was chipperfield manor mate, the woods were chipperfield common and the pub was most likely the two brewers on the common
My dads cousin was his handy man / chauffeur until he sold up and moved to London

An interesting article regarding Jim Ratcliffe's purchase of the French club, Nice.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49625064

His brother confirms that they enquired about purchasing Chelsea but that the two parties were "a long way apart on valuation". Not surprising given that the asking price has been indicated to have started at £2.5 billion.

Chelsea FC for all their recent success, are an illusion as a business. The club are in an antiquated stadium, don't own their own pitch, can't find a site to relocate to, can't finance stadium development, lose money season on season (without Abramovic's annual loan) and are probably worth less than the level of investment over the last 15 years.

The longer that state of affairs continues, the better. Roman can afford to keep them in the Top 6 but as their competitors progress and expand they will become ever more reliant on handouts that eventually will come to an end, probably under a new owner.
