Cardiff settled their debts rather than take the easy route and leave creditors with pennies in the pound including local traders.

swansea cannot excuse that ever. Disgusting, appalling actions that swansea should forever be ashamed of.

The Sala issue is a legal issue simple as that.

Yes, but it was almost destroyed with stupid transfers, and endless manager changes in our last 2 PL seasons etc, the fact that we still had the remnants of Martinez game and a realisation that we had drifted from that philosophy, focused minds on getting back to our grass roots, Potter was key for this, and while necessity is the mother of invention, enter the Swansea academy, this has been our saving grace, with a return also to sensible player transfers.

Clingo the Martinez philosophy was thankfully filtered down to the academy development, which as you know has been our lifeboat, with us fielding the youngest squad of the Football League, but you are so right here with that statement..............<cheers>

That's a fair comment, and while that may well have been true last season, the sales of James to Manu, and McBurnie to Sheff, has balanced the books, so while clubs like us will always have pressure from the PL clubs, I think we are pretty safe this season, all the statements coming from the club seem to confirm this, even Ayew who it was rumoured would be gone by Sept. 3rd, has now committed to staying at the Liberty.

Regrading our CVA All parties agreed the decision with the exception of Hollins and Bound who contested the decision but lost the vote , Have you forgotten about your lot being chased by HMRC for trying to cheat every hard working tax payer of the country or how about your Club siphoning off golden ticket money to pay off yet more of your debt, naughty boy
"Cardiff City were given an extra 28 days to settle their bill with the taxman after they appeared in the high court to fight their winding-up order today.

The 2008 FA Cup finalists were able to pay off £1m of their debt to Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs after selling off land around their new ground at the Cardiff City Stadium However, they still need to find another £1.6m by 10 March or face another winding-up order.
The club's most recent accounts, to May 2008, show it had debts of almost £33m."

Lucky you found Tan otherwise I doubt you'd even exist and by the way whatever the outcome of the Sala decision by FIFA, the stench will hang around your Club for a lot longer then you think .

There is no way around the undisputed fact swansea left local traders & others with unpaid debts; that is unforgivable.

How difficult is it to comprehend City paid off ALL their debts yet swansea didn’t?

swansea unabashedly took advantage of the then rules. That cannot be washed away with the tide.

You try to take the morale high ground of stench of debt but you may as well try to cycle up a treacle hill.

You would do well to cease bringing up the Sala issue. How difficult is it to grasp that if the money is LEGALLY due it will be paid.

How can the swansea board can sleep at night when people they legally contracted with were robbed of payment?

swansea may be top of the league (temporarily I should add) but they’re bottom of the league for treachery.

Boundie…….most of those who agreed to the CVA had no choice. The big creditors would have held sway and taken what was on offer....precious little too. And don't come the big pious twat about robbing the poor taxpayer. CCFC paid ALL their tax bill. you paid 6% (was it?) of your tax bill as HMRC was one of your biggest creditors. You were also very lucky that HMRC didn't have their later policy of pushing football clubs that owed them into administration and not accepting a CVA. In that case, your final day exploits would have done you no good at all coz a ten-point deduction would have sunk you much earlier.
Maybe YOU need a few lessons in how a CVA works.
I'm surprised though; you lot have had two CVAs in recent history so should know the process.

Anyone surprised by how Stoke are struggling? I know they were mentioned by many people to be contenders this season. Still early days I guess.

I am clingo. I thought of the two new Championship Welsh managers, Nathan Jones would be well above Steve Cooper's Swansea at this point. Of course it can still finish that way, but much more of the same at Stoke and Jones could be the first Championship fall guy.

You'd think a side with players like Joe Allen, Ince and Etebo in there would have performed much better espacially with Vokes and Hogan on the bench. Things needs to change quite rapidly or Stoke could do a delayed action Sunderland and end up on the trap door.

Not the championship, but the EFL.

Think this sets a dangerous precedent.

If they are thrown out, they should be out, no half measures.
Think the EFL have realised they've ballsed up and are trying to back track.

I can understand your point CCFC but i look at it from this angle and ask what if it was one of us....If they can prove they can compete their fixtures and can pay the players wages then i would allow them back in with a 20 point deduction and see how it goes.....Nobody wants to see any club lose their league status for getting into a financial mess as long as they learned their lesson....Swansea and Cardiff have both been there ourselves and were glad of the help we got to survive and i think Bury with their long history deserves a last chance to survive.....
