A vote for remain is by far the quickest way to end this. Carrying on with Brexit is a guarantee this situation will last for several years after we leave. Even no deal is equivalent to saying, we will come up with a deal after we leave.

But I do believe there are people on the middle naive enough to believe the negotiations will end by leaving the EU.

 

How about we just call the whole thing off and seek to improve Europe and the UK from within? That's the path with the least drawbacks.

 

We agree to disagree on some but not all points. We already voted leave twice, the initial referendum and the 2017 election during which both major parties pledged to honour the initial decision, so even though Mrs May’s majority was lost for the Tories, Labour also supported Leave. I cannot take for one split second any confidence from Jeremy Corbyn ‘s line of thinking, he has confused his party and a lot of those who originally supported him. Even last night his spokespeople seemed at odds with his earlier assertion that an election must now come, hinting at various conditions beforehand etc. A second referendum is uncertain on its outcome leading to yet more delay and loss of confidence. People talk of the loss of democracy, well that’s simply not the case, even though I voted Remain, it was a reluctant vote as the EU is the most undemocratic organisation with all the key figures being ‘negotiated’ into position and there is no clear process by which these people can be removed from office. I prefer our way where if the PM’s party proves unworthy of office, whatever party that is in power, they can be removed at the ballot box. That principle has not nor will not be given up. You might find this post irrelevant or even irritating but fortunately we can have our debates without fear of our lives, not so in many other so called democracies.

 

So how do you see the way key figures being put in place after we leave the EU being more democratic?

At least now the public have democratically elected officials providing scrutiny who can prevent legislation being passed. After we leave France can just create a law affecting UK buisnesses and the British public will have no say at all.

1. I asked if you were advocating a no deal exit, it's a simple yes or no answer.
2. I live in the Netherlands and have a wide circle of friends and acquaintances British, European and international the vast majority think, after the three plus years of fruitless negotiation, another referendum is the way to go. Particularly after watching The Great Hack and being amused and applauding the led by donkeys twitter feed.
3. When we have Dominic Cummings and other shadows manipulating government I find it hard to reconcile your non-elected, negotiated into position statement. Surely we are better staying in the EU and having an influence on law making that will affect the UK and also working on the necessary reforms.

I have bequeathed my season ticket to the most stinking, dirty, scruffy foul mouthed vagrant in the Above Bar that way the people who sit around me at St Mary's will be constantly reminded of me. At the moment I am finding it difficult to find someone willing to read the eulogy at my funeral.

 

Interesting in that link how he says that there is momentum in the talks (a reporter in Brussels on the BBC lunchtime news said that his contacts in the discussions had said that the UK had put nothing worthwhile on the table, so no momentum) and that it is Jeremy Corbyn’s fault.

Were I you, I'd be counting my blessings of living in an age of prosperity. You got to enjoy many of the safest generations of living, where the environment had some sort of equilibrium with the humans desire to expand. Don't fear dying, fear living, and pray for the young, The world will burn, while we discuss it's demise, and no one is getting in the way of that. Politics is some sad side show now.
