I'm hoping the details are released today. A friend of mine has corporate season tickets and is entitled to reserve some tickets for the Pompey game, but then also go into a ballot for more away tickets alongside other corporate season ticket holders. The guy at the club who sorts his corporate tickets out has said that apparently those who went to Fulham away will have priority. If that's true I will be very annoyed because I have 11 aways in the last two seasons and couldn't do Fulham. If we get a reduced allocation of say 2000, then I think I'd struggle for tickets and so would many others who regularly go away. If the criteria is, for example, 10 aways including Fulham, then 10 aways excluding Fulham, then 9 aways and so on, I could understand it, but I don't think the club can limit first priority to just those who did Fulham?
Well if they don't do the bubble as rumoured then I'm certain that we won't get anymore than the 10% minimum. Doubt it will be as high as ten either as that's generally where Bournemouth starts and it will definitely be more tickets than that, unless they seriously reduce our allocation which is unlikely. I agree that using just Fulham wouldn't be fair for this game for first priority.
Saintsfccop on twitter: Appreciate everyone is waiting for some updates about the real South Coast Derby. We are still working with both clubs and are hoping to make an announcement later this week. Will be also be meeting with fan groups this weekend to discuss their thoughts for this fixture #SaintsFC
Although you shouldn't have to have "bubbles", mounted police or dog handlers at a football match, I would have thought it would be the safest option in this case. Another good reason for not going.
I suspect it's simply down to the fact that it's an evening match and there's roadworks on the M27. Thery'd never allow an evening match by choice, only this competition or FA replay, so I'm sure that's not the the end of the bubble. I'm not sure it's as 'safe' at night either to be honest though the kettle back to station afterwards won't be fun. No need for free scarves Saints, free hard hat for everyone in the away end. There'll be plenty of their 'fans' who aren't even going who will be celebrating this news. Add in the fact that it has to be settled on the night and it will only end badly imo.
I understand why the bubble is not happening etc and that theres not really an alternative but I think the old bill are in for a busy night!
All joking aside if any of you are planning to go be safe. I've been there without a bubble and my advice would be stick together. If there's only one or two of you then get in amongst as many saints fans as you can. Safety in numbers! Be prepared for hostility. The ground itself is safe enough it's that horrible trip from the train station, be prepared to have bricks thrown at you. It happened to us. I vowed I wouldn't do another down there but I hope all ours come home safely
The team will want to have fans there to support them, but not sure I would want to go (even if I was one of you big hunky guys).
