That 2nd half was the most confident Saints performance I have seen for a long time. Saints have now scored in 3 consecutive games!!!! And Vestegaard MOM, crazy stuff
Vestergaard was absolutely brilliant today. So positive, so happy. With the injuries and everything that is such a good point.
Great result, the red card might have cost us 3 points, but happy with the point. Team worked hard for each other, just lack the quality in final third. Vestie had his best game ever for us, even without the goal.
Lovely defensive performance, suspiciously solid. Big test for Adams now, can’t let the lack of goals get to his head and it’s early days. I like the look of him though and I reckon he’ll come good. Danso was stupid but was a nice performance from him and I can’t wait to see him at CB.
Pretty happy with that. Defended very well throughout. Danso is a ****ing idiot for that challenge though. No need for that. Thought we could have pushed on for a winner if not but I'll take the point all things considered.
He's young, he'll learn. Ralph will talk to him. I would have been very happy with a point before kick off so really really pleased with the team's character.
Happy with that. Some very good performances. Especially Vestergaard and Romeu. Special mention to Boufal. Put in a decent shift.
Romeu was very good. As was Gunn. But MOTM by a distance - and even without his goal - was Vestergaard. Easily the best I've ever seen him play. Only one game of course, but if he plays like that on a regular basis then hopefully we've finally got three decent CBs (if Danso also proves himself there too). PEH was really disappointing, and JWP was quiet, but generally we were excellent. Until the red card, I thought we were comfortably the better side (not that that was hard though, given how awful Utd were - James and Wan Bissaka aside.)
I thought it was a heroic challenge. Bit of a stupid one to make when he was already on a yellow though.
The was an occasion in the second half when he lost the flight of the ball in the air and allowed it to drop over his head (like against Burnley), but apart from that, Vestergard was very good.
Good result Our defence playing well.... Danso is young and played well. Adams does everything but score Vestergaard was great Who got injured?
Cedric got injured at the end and I thought Adams played like he was carrying a knock of some kind. Good time for a break
A good point in the end. watched it in a bar on the front, totally full, but only two of us watching the game. Me and a Man U fan from.....Manchester! Season ticket holder too! Up until the sending off, he thought we would do it, then we had 20 mins of Footie fan reverse jinx of “we’ll never hold on” and “we’ll never score against 10 men”. Comedy gold looking back on it. All football fans are the same. Anyway, i’ll take that as an early birthday present and not a bad game to watch for the last time in my 40s Here’s to the next 50 years of me watching them
I think Adams needs confidence. From the highlights video of him he looked like a player willing to have a go from anywhere around the box, no matter the angle or what pressure he's under. He looks afraid to shoot right now, and is snatching at the clear chances he does get. i think he didnt get any goals at the end of last season either. i think he needs to find a way to get his confidence back and then he will start burying them,
