Very little makes much appeal today at the prices... At Sandown in the opener (1:50), ONLY SPOOFING only managed third at Chelmsford last time after running up a hat-trick but the most recent win was a valuable Ascot race and Jedd O’Keeffe’s gelding runs off the same mark as he had on the polytrack. It looks a very open race so hopefully he can make the most of his one draw. The Beverley opener (2:05) is a trappy six runner three year handicap where I am expecting one of the Johnston duo to try making all. The jockey bookings suggest that would be Dark Vision (wants quick ground?), although Victory Command has the better recent form. Richard Fahey is hardly ebullient about Artic Fox’s chances in his Sporting Life column but the one that takes the eye is DESERT ICON for William Haggas. A repeat of its second last time may be good enough here even with the 4lb rise from the handicapper, but the ground is an unknown. In the 4:25, RED SEEKER comes in having won three similar races on the bounce, including two over course and distance; and his last two under this jockey. He is closely matched with Pickett’s Charge from two races back, that one 3lbs better for a head and having won one from three in August. A number of these come here out of form and the biggest dangers may be the three-year-olds Sezim, hailing from the Varian stable, and Ollivander, from the O’Meara yard with two wins in July, one over course and distance in lower grade.
Not sure if I should be posting this one as they might be punting it... My mate sent me this and he reckons it has been working at home with horses rated in the 80s but it comes in here with an official rating of 67. The bad news is it is an apprentice handicap, the first race at Chelmsford (5:40) and it is carrying 10st 2lb: Barton Mills Not only does it come with all the wealth warnings flashing red, but it hardly has any inspiring recent form to make you rush down the bookies with your hard-earned. In four races since moving to Easterby it has three second lasts and a remote sixth. Looking at the betting it is just 4/1. Last year’s winner comes here on a lower mark and in decent form and Dean Ivory’s favourite has the best jockey in the race.
No “proper” football next weekend due to Internationals!!!! So I’ve got 4 coupons on including a both teams to score and the Skybet Price Boost today. My horse bet, 1.50 Sandown Mountain Peak 2.25 Sandown Migration 3.15 Beverley Judicial Have a good weekend fellas

Morning...not much I fancy today except in the Beverley Bullet race: Judicial 8/1 each way. Holds the 5f track record, is undefeated at the track and has been quite highly tried this season. Joe Fanning rides Beverley well and this race in the past seems to through up winners that are course specialist types. Not convinced about Tis Marvellous at this track so nominating this one as a strong fancy today.. Good luck all..
Mr Haggas has several runners today and I reckon his best 3 chances of winners lay with: 2.05 Bev DESERT ICON 3/1 2.25 San COUNTRY 5/2 6.30 Ling NKOSIKAZI 3/1
In the 3.15 Beverley Tis Marvellous is top rated on 111 after winning well last time. In this Listed race his Handicap mark is no hindrance and he is meeting his rivals on better terms than would be the case in a handicap. I think he will be hard to beat. I like Copper Knight, who seems to love York but he has to give 3 lbs to the 5 lbs higher rated Tis Marvellous so that makes life tough for him. The Cox horse is therefore fancied to land this one. The 2.25 Sandown looks to be between Migration and Country on the betting. I was wary of Country last time out in his first handicap foray because he looked to have won a couple of soft races but he got the job done and the 2nd and 4th have both won since. I prefer his profile to that of Migration and given that the latter is shorter in the betting I went with the Haggas runner. 3.15 Beverley Tis Marvellous 5/2 2.25 Sandown Country 11/4 Two singles and a double. Main interest is the Solario and bets on Positive at 9/4 and 5/2 ante post. Visinari is out now and Al Suhail seems the danger but I am hopeful Positive can prove that the Vintage Stakes form is stronger. The 3rd there Lope Y Fernandez won a Group 3 nicely yesterday.
Jumper to follow there Tedham..owner keen on that one. That first Sandown race typical flat sprint...lots of horses with no run..no room..and plenty of hard luck stories.. you gotta love the flat! Lol
Mmm, Country came from a country mile back there. Maybe the horse needs further but he clearly doesn't have the turn of foot to come from off a hold up run of that extent. Migration did quicken well but perhaps he was in front too long. I reckon both jockeys on the market 1-2 will fell they could have done better in maximising their horse's chance today.
Started ****e, then a second, then a winner! Winnings going on Northernpowerhouse in the next one at Beverley
I was thinking the same. I was just watching the last at newton Abbott backed the fob horse but backed the winner lto. I do that all the time. Getting back to the filly hopefully I’ll be at hq to see her in the sun chariot..
I also backed her in the Oaks as an each-way at a big price. I wasn't sure about the drop back by half a mile today but she clearly ran no race in the Oaks and the suicidal ride from the front didn't give her a prayer. A huge turnaround from Epsom today. The Stoute filly Jubiloso has been a hype horse for a while now and she doesn't look a miler to me. Over at Beverley Tis Marvellous never had a prayer after an awful ride that saw him trapped at the very time he was making his run. Is it asking too much for a jockey to steer a horse into a position where he can make a clear run?
