I'm listening Wakey, yes losing games cost us auto, but one game cost us a play off final place. I mean we were nearly 2 up going into the half time break and the rest is history..
No disrespect to Cooper but if this is true, he has had all the off-season to wipe away the pain from his shortcomings in that play-off game, so it kind of makes sense that selective amnesia kicks in and rather than blame himself, well let's just put it down to Bielsa teams always tire towards the backend of a season. If true and if I was Bielsa, well then I can't say I would be too happy about the Captain not taking on a bit more responsibility. But then hey, it's only an alleged conversation. I think what cost us more towards the end of last season was several players who threw their toys out the pram and thankfully they aren't with us anymore. You have to admire guys like White and Eddie slotting right in and helping us get back on track.
I'm getting scared of the new, sober, making sense you . You're quite right, 1 more minute, go in 2-0 on aggregate because they looked lost. Once they realised Kiko was having a melt down..... as you say, the rest is history.
Yeah the non drinking is crap. I thought I'd sorted my **** out and had a few last Fri/Sat, the chest infection came back and its back on the tabs for another week. Fecking wrecking my head...
Morning all. My view is that if we'd gone up last season it would have been tough to survive because the squad isn't quite ready yet. This season we can blood a few of the good U23s in the first team. I think that is the only way to get a real foothold in the Prem, have a good nucleus of a squad and then add a bit of extra quality. Fulham showed that you can't buy a place in the Prem and Cardiff showed that grit and determination won't work either. The model, as Radz said, is Wolves. They were a Prem team playing in the Championship. As good as we were last year, it was Bielsa making silk purses out of sows ears. He almost did it but there's not many of that squad that would compete in the Prem. Basically, it could have been a blessing not to go up, who knows? I think Bielsa had to work the squad hard because they needed to be much fitter to make up for the lack of quality. I didn't see a reduction in energy levels as much as the team being crippled by injuries and, much more importantly, not taking the hundreds of chances we created. In fact I think we were poor in the final third towards the end of last season. This season we seem to be much better but time will tell. We do have more quality to call on and haven't suffered with injuries so fingers crossed.
Don't worry Shako, having seen your predicament I'm prepared to have a few extra to make up the shortfall.
