That's a cracking line up IMO though I think with Redders and Djenepo out, I think we need another with jazzy footwork. Step forward Boufal (probably for Romeu)! We need at least 2 strikers on the bench so that would probably be Long and one of N'Lundulu or Barnes (who looked very good when he came on against Liverpool for U23s). I think Armstrong will be a good player to bring on too to get the pace back in the game if it drops off. He seems to run after everything.
Snagged myself a ticket for this one. Looking for some advice: 1 - I'm seeing some reported train troubles on Saturday. Some trains seem affected, some don't... anyone know anything in particular to avoid or alternative routes? 2 - Not sure when I'll get in (or maybe I won't, because of the trains!) but are people meeting anywhere? I may have some time to kill.
And yet wherever you look since about 10 o'clock last night people are "definitely gonna get a ticket for that"
Thanks! Kept looking online but the website wasn’t the clearest and wasn’t that helpful when I was dipping in and out of the page at work. I should still be fine to go direct from Waterloo then, rather than the faff of going to Reading and having to change.
I was excited about this and then we lose last season's best attacking player, this season's best new attacking player and our most promising young attacking prospect, all in one game. We are truly blessed Got to start with Sophie Will Ralph stick with 4-2-2-2 or go 3 at the back? I'm saying ... Gunn Cedric Beddy Danso Berty Oriel Pierre JWP Sophie Ings Adams Bench: McCarthy, Maya, Vestergard, Valery, Armstrong, Long, Ali Dia I'd have Armstrong on but we need him and Shaney as super-subs We're running short of players right? May be time for a cameo from Dan N'Lundulu
I think we'll go 5-3-2, which probably means Boufal gets dropped. I might actually play Boufal instead of Adams, but Boufal is probably tired while I think Adams was intentionally kept fresh for this game so Hasenhuttl will probably stick to that. We'll probably make the switch to 4-2-2 with most likely Boufal coming in if it's close in the second half. I actually wouldn't mind if we just went 4-2-2-2 to start, and that lineup would be fine with me, but I just don't think it will happen now with everyone hurt.
I wonder. He really looks the part from what I’ve seen on YouTube coverage of the U23’s. Big and strong, pacy and direct. I like the way he drops back into midfield to get the ball, would probably work well with Adams and Ings. Trouble is, he almost certainly won’t be risked against Man U.
I’ve watched them recently. They are anything but very very weak. We had a better chance last year IMO when lemina played pig a out of the game. This will be tough and I’m not expecting a result for us but hope to be entertained.
Just sent a text where autocorrect changed 'tough' into 'Pugh'....why?? Not as if I had a previous history of regularly typing Pugh (or even typing it once).
If that was the choice I’d start with Boufal. Need a game changer on and the Che and Danny partnership hasn’t really clicked yet Then again I don’t mind a patient 1st half 0-0 with impact subs Sophie Stu and Shaney available later Then again with our defence the patient 0-0 can end up as 0-2!
I meant to agree with you that it's weird that we haven't been able to sell out Utd at home yet we draw Pompey away and every man and his dog that maybe once walked past St Marys is scrabbling for a ticket.
