Sorry mate but I'm annoyed with myself that it didn't come to mind last night and I had to say it at least the once
I’m going to message my boss and tell him that one of the nights out will be in the Sports Bar in Temple Bar, watching me lose my sh1t... I’m hosting the event with other regions and have to make it a cultural experience. I have booked the Guinness experience so far for them, but might give them a proper cultural experience on another evening, watching an English fan lose it in a pub after several Guinness!
Another disappointing thought: there are two Pompey fans I’ve seen who live in my village. One of them has a massive chip on his shoulder and it would have been entertaining to go and watch it down the pub. I only found out one night because I ordered a chilli con carne one evening and he was at the bar being particularly loud (he’s a very small man with small man syndrome). The bar man asked me if I wanted rice or chips and this gobby voice said “go half and half mate.” I suggested that he didn’t sound like a northerner (as that’s where I thought half n half was from) and he replied, “No mate, I’m from Portsmuff.” I took great delight in introducing myself more formally... “oh I didn't think they served fish in here, I’m a Southampton season ticket holder, lovely to meet some smaller club fans (remember he was a small man)” It was hilarious, he couldn’t spit his bile out quick enough and said something about C U Next Tuesday to me.....
Had a dream last night that Ings scored in the last minute at Nottarf Krap, sprinted the entire length of the field to celebrate in front of the Portsmouth fan and then was bundled by Ralph. Wasn’t a bad goal to make it 7-0.
