https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/...southampton-1-carabao-cup-second-round-201920 Are there any 606'ers in the pics?
If it was such a poor performance why should we have won by more goals?, that one is confusing me a little.
Genuine question - did you actually follow the game? I was there and we were very poor in the first half but completely dominant in the second. Should have won by 3 or 4. Nothing wrong with the performance in the 2nd half.
I think he meant why was that a poor performance. From the sounds of it, it was just the first half that was poor.We were dominant the second.
Nope, doesn't point to a general poor performance to me, but maybe our finishing could've been sharper, maybe that will come further on in the season.

I think that was the idea. They didn't convert the chances. I put up the stats further up the thread. Have a read. Doesn't point to a poor performance. Just one that got the job done and nothing more.
And that's all it needed to do and I would be far more concerned if we were not creating any chances, the more you create the more that you will score in most matches. Oh and the more shooting practice you get you will improve eventually!.
And from YT too for those who can never remember their blasted Saints password [the only one I forget]:
Even city have bad halves! It's still too early in the season to judge if the bad halves are the outliers, or the good halves. At least we are winning, that feels bloody good.
Like I say, if the good second halves (after Ralph changes and teamtalk) outweigh the bad first halves i'll continue to be happy. it's when we are out of the game by H/T regularly that I will truly worry.
Oriel's was, although the GK made a good save, i'll stick up for Shane a bit though as he never had time to react and was off balance as it came to him. Danny's one on one was easier to score I reckon.
The best game Manager we have had for decades IMHO. (Glenda was pretty good IIRC). Lawrie Mac never had to do much game managing, he had about 6 Captains on the pitch to do it for him, his skill was people managing which Ralph appears to be not too shabby at either.
Saw that on twitter but the keeper pulled off a fine save from Romeu and the pass to Long was slightly behind him so he did well to get a shot off at all
