Adkins. He achieved more than could be expected.

    Bruce. Promotion and cup final.

Silva. I don't know why really. The ladies liked him, but as a manager is massively overrated.

Slutsky. Because he's a lovely bloke.

    Phelan. Erm...

Just looked to see if Slutsky is still managing in Holland & Vitesse finished 5th last season & are currently 2nd this season!
Max Clark, seems to be playing regularly too!
I was never sure about Slutsky, maybe he'll get another chance at being a big name?

Sir Nobby Horton , he took us to 6 th position in the now Championship during 85/86 a year before the introduction of the playoffs . Brought in the likes of Jobson , Bunn ,Parker and Bobby Doyle at a bargain price. After he was sacked we started to sleepwalk into the wilderness.

Agree, but maybe swap the slut for the Adkins chap. Adkins was sometimes ridiculously chirppy and talked bollocks like “we looked good in the warm up”.

Phelan was probably the worst manager I can remember.

Anyone else in the habit of reading the title of this thread with a Life of Brian Pontius Pilate speech impediment?

    No?

    Just me then.

Bruce. Overly negative a lot of the time and spunked our Europa League chance, but it was down to him we were in the Europa League and it might not ever happen again.
Silva. Super organised with a team that was relegation fodder, and got us beating Liverpool and still with a chance of staying up until a few matches out.
Slutsky. Am not basing this on his time with us. He needed more help, with it being his first overseas job. An international and Champions League level manager. Hope he gets to go to Hull Fair again one day.
Adkins. We stayed up with him and also had a wonderful run during the middle of last season, getting near to the playoffs. I don't think he was as tactically good or as had the coaching ability of the other managers but popular with fans.
Phelan. Had a thankless task and will be remembered for the Leicester win. As good a coach as any of the others, but not as a manager based on the evidence.
I wish Mccann well this season but can already see similarities with Parkinsons time with us. Already coming in for abuse with knuckleheads on social media. Needs his big target man to get going I think.
