Very old school, but charming. I noticed the home and away fans can mingle in the concourse. Thatll be fun for some games!
I believe they actually have a "neutral" section there? All very civilised. On the game - people fretting about the lack of an alternative left back need to start believing what Ralph says - he'd like to work with a group of 22, max. That means it's quite possible that he'd rather have a core of trusted players who are capable of playing several positions, rather than 2 specialists in every position. Seems hard on Vokins, but I guess Ralph has decided that he is not quite ready. From listening to the game, it sounds like Hojbjerg was very good though.
In the first half we seemed to be trying to play a 4-2-2-2 and we couldn't string more than a few passes together and we had no width either but were somehow not shielding our defence either. Christie should have scored with his header but after that they didn't threaten the goal. No idea why Hojbjerg was left back as he had no-one to play forward to and we need more steel in the middle. Second half we swapped Djenepo and Boufal over and both had much more impact. We pushed far higher and dominated from there on. Danso was great at interceptions and quite quick but his headers were wayward. Ings should have had two and Boufal one but we carried a threat though still seem porous. A good win and the second on the trot. More second half performances please, if we play like we did in the first half against Man U we will be thrashed!
I should have taken a photo of your boys for you.. I was in the Arsenal end at cobblers tonight. @- Doing The Lambert Walk
Obafemi gave a message on Instagram to say thank you for the support. Didn't mention his injury but I doubt it's bad if he's up to doing that.
I gather that it wasn’t their best display? Saw that they’d lost on penalties but admittedly totally out of the loop on how it actually went.
It was quite a prolonged celebration and I found it hard to lose my **** over an Obafemi tap-in against Fulham in the Carabao Cup second round. Not been that close to the front before and thought I’d take a photo if the players were gonna drag it out that much.
So a couple of posters early in this thread bemoaned the fact that we should have been up by 4 and one said six, so some person on the radio says"that should have been a more convincing win", but of course he gets a FFS from you because he stated the ****ing obvious. So hey lets have a party because we made the next round on a poor performance against a championship team. Happy days.
There is something in this poor performance lark. Two poor performances, two wins, two clean sheets. I’ll take that.
They have a few tidy players, but not a lot of cutting edge. The lad with the double barrelled name (bower-Smith) ?? Looks tidy, although he missed the last penalty with a howler. Played some nice stuff though.
Smith Rowe? Floppyish blonde hair, playing between midfield and the attack? He’s just back off a fairly long lay-off and will be in and around the first team squad once fit. Think that’s his first time playing beyond 60/70 minutes since his injury back in December 2018. Nice kid too. Shame about the penalty.
