Hopefully we will NOT get Assulin. May be a great player but means we will have to put up with another 3 years of the dillusional 'gio' factor with half our fans thinking we could sign him up ahead of the likes of Serie A and La Liga clubs.

Thank god your not the manager, the team is lacking any pace / movement / ability to take on a player in midfield and runners for Bullard.

I couldn't care less if its for 3 months or another Gio situation etc !

If we draw to Coventry, then say lose to Boro + West Ham we're in a mess, are we not ?

Short term we need to do literally ANYTHING to get off and running.

You'd hardly say " no thanks I don't want a class player for 3 months I'd rather play Leadbitter on the wing " would you........... !

Westlake, Rushmere calm down - it was a tongue in cheek comment.
Off course its brilliant to get in as much quality as possible. Would definately want that for the team and others like him. The constant 'sign them' at any transfer window does annoy me but I would put up with that for a bit of quality on the pitch. Entertainment is definately required!

    good glad it was ;)

In all honesty we have major issues outwide

    - Martin - Jewell annoyed with his red and appears to not be amused with him.

    - Carson - Jewell annoyed with wage demands and fitness from the summer.

    - Drury - Shoved on loan to Crawley - who I thought could play there.

    - Peters - Not getting a look in.

    - O'Connor - Likewise.......

Bit of a disaster at the mo...

We have JET as well :). Also think Martin will be back in the team for Boro once he has served his 3 match ban.

Speaking of Gio he was complete gash last night. Everytime he got the ball he lost it. Looks a shadow of the player we had, maybe he's longing to return to Suffolk?

Yes, we do have JET + also Murphy too........

JET is fine, with a midfield 3 and a pacy winger on the other side. He's as slow as a tank, and doesn't track back.

Murphy, well his performance v Blackpool deserved at least a weeks fine, he was terrible.

We're definitely missing a wide man.

Martin looks a hell of a lot better, Jewell MUST MUST stick with him when back. We should have appealled the ban, not handled it how Jewell did which was pathetic.

We need to hope JET becomes more mobile, and Carson gets his head down.

These 3 players are fundamentally key for us now. IF IF they perform, we WILL start to move up the table, quite simple.

The other option, would be Ingi RB and Carlos on a wing.

This team...... would certainly do well.

    Stockdale.

    Edwards / Sonko / Ingi / Collins

    Bowyer holding......

    Bullard playmaking, Andrews alongside.

JET roaming, Martin running the other wing.

Chops putting the ball in the net.

We CANNOT play Cresswell + Edwards together at full back at the minute, as we'll be too open. We can afford one.

Bowyer can do the holding midfield role, from what I've seen of Andrews he's not a massive fan of that side of the game.

Westlake - Surely it would be better to drop Edwards, play Ingi at RB (If indeed he can pay there) and then put Cresswell at LB. I think Cresswell has been one of our best players so far this season and is one for the future so would hate to see him dropped.

He was worth £34m, but Barca let him leave on a free, that sounds likely. <laugh>

I don't get all this obsession with people saying Edwards is at fault etc.

I was at Blackpool, Edwards was by far the better player of the 2. Again, at Peterborough at times Cresswell really did not defend well. Edwards however, did better.

I'd much rather player Edwards out of the 2. Ideally, I'd have Carlos on a wing and Cresswell at full back. We're not strong enough for both, so for me, Edwards I'd have any day of the week of the 2.

Bit of a silly thing to say given what's happened with Robinho and Adebayor. The £34m came from press speculation I think you'll find. I dont think anyone is suggesting he would command that kind of transfer fee.

I think it is true but from memory it was one of those minimum fee release clauses as they had such high hopes for him. He's never been worth that but the idea is to frighten other teams off bidding for him. Obviously he didnt turn out with as much pedigree as they originally hoped and decided he wasnt worth keeping.
