alright , lads came across this in a post on Facebook Fans , saying that Steve Bruce is not a Geordie , because he was born in Corbridge . Thoughts , lads on that view , so if you are not born in Newcastle ,or grew up in Newcastle , does this mean that your not a Geordie then .
Born, in Ashington hospital grew up in Northumberland , so I am not one either . Only hope was I was christened in the RVI. Ha ha
Born and raised in Canada. Have suffered with the lads since Shearer's penalty miss against Partizan Belgrade. Geordie
Another non geordie. Born in Bishop Auckland, dragged up in Spennymoor. Mind you, if we go abroad I always get called a geordie even though I sound nowt like one.
Born in Sheffield - half my family born in Sheffield other half born in Newcastle. Couldn't care less what I am called (with in reason you little oiks) I don't sound like I am from anywhere up north as spent most of my life in varying parts of the south.
I always thought you had to be born within the city walls,Geordies got the name from staying Loyal to King George while all the rest went with Robert the Bruce, but I go with anyone born in Newcastle and surrounding area and anyone supporting the Toon,I was born just off Diana St so am a proper Geordie me
Basta...oops, sorry hadn’t read to the end. N.B. Read to the end before posting, read to the end before posting, read to the end before...
My understanding is that born in Newcastle and you are a Novocastrian and a Geordie if born within one mile north of the River Tyne.
