Anybody want tickets for Bolton versus Bury on Sunday 8th September at noon? Will either club still exist by then? :emoticon-0106-cryin

Anybody got any fancies for the evening card at Saint Malo? :emoticon-0100-smile I have been through there (ferry from Plymouth) but I never knew they had a racecourse – looked on Google Maps to find that it is a couple of furlongs from the railway station.

Having looked at the betting for the Grand Prix de Deauville this afternoon, I think I will give it a miss with two runners under 2/1 and two others with single figure prices.

Not sure that I would want to back old boy Limato in the Supreme Stakes (Goodwood 4:10). He probably is still good enough to give weight to all his rivals if the race is run to suit him. Of the three year olds in this race, three of them have been disappointing whilst penalised Fox Champion takes a drop in class here having been highly tried lately but his third in the Prix Jean Prat would give him a chance here.

    afternoon,fellas!

    goodwood,2 00:

HASHTAGMETOO is maybe a bit more exposed than the others here, but she has run only solid races this season, and especially her last run was very promising.so,her experience should stand her in good stead today.

    beverley,2 10:

with the possible exception of carry on deryck, who was much better than this lot in his prime, but hasnt shown anything like it recently, this should concern only the top two,at least on official ratings.tukhoom is a serious rival on form, but i think ROUSAYAN is the one to beat today.has a very solid profile in better races this season,so he can notch another win.

    yarmouth,2 50:

gifts of gold is an up and coming horse, who might keep on progressing, but it wont be easy with his welter burden today, and therefore,i chose ELECTOR.hes been competing in hot handicaps so far this season, and though not so good recently, his newmarket win 3 starts back looks good enough to score here today..

I have been getting lots of tips from my mate lately that are Roger Varian horses. Yesterday it was Barsanti each way in the Ebor, which I did not fancy at all. Varian has 7 winners from his last 50 runners, so in better form than O’Brien. <laugh>

Today, he has sent me Spanish City in the Yarmouth 5:10. It ran a stinker in the Stewards’ Cup but now returns to seven furlongs over which it was fourth in the Bunbury Cup. It looks like a trappy five runner race with no obvious pacesetter unless the Johnston horse tries it under Ryan Moore.

Usual wealth warnings if you follow it...
