oh so close..but she ran her heart out once again,so no excuses.. york,3 40: EBOR HANDICAP as tight as it can be,as you would imagine for the money, but i have two horses,i like a lot:WELLS FARRH GO and red verdon.the latter is a well travelled and battle hardened customer, and might go well again, but the former is still a fresh horse after just two starts this season, and he won really well at hq on his seasonal debut.was then thrown in at the deep end in the goodwood cup,and it was maybe all a bit too much for him.im not saying, this is any easier today, but he can give another good account here,at least e w..
I have four in the Ebor all ew ...... Ben Vrackie; Kings Advice; Red Verdon and Baghdad ...... if you have backed any of these, be afraid. Be very afraid - or cash out!!
I used to have a big ginger Tom cat called Hamish and saw the horse at 12/1 somewhere early doors. Those types of selections based on pets never seem to win and I never backed him. Sorry Hamish lad.
Great shout with Mustajeer Pilgrim. Kings Advice was out of it and Dramatic Queen must have gone wrong as she was dismounted. Never been a lucky race for me but I have had a good day overall, which is unusual for a Saturday.
cartmel,.4 35: in my view, the key players here are PRETTY MISS MAHLER,pena dorada and nortonthorpe legend, who met here last time out.pena dorada won then with 7 lengths, but has been hiked up 7 lbr, wchich doesnt make any easier for him.nortonthorpe legend is a very reliable sort, who always runs his race, and hes respected, but i think, this can go to the todhunter mare, who has run better than on her first two starts last time out,and she can compete off the same mark today,so definite shout in an open race..
cartmel,5 10: INGLEBY HOLLOW can go well in the feature here.has to give weight away to all,but hes still not badly treated, and richard johnson is 2-2 on his third in the summer hurdle at market rasen was a good effort, even though the form has taken a few knocks since.but still a big chance here.
What a great little race this was..Laurens going down by the smallest of margins. The winner looks high class and ran very well despite time off the track. Gutted didn't collect but she gave it her all and will be interesting to see where she goes next. A poor Saturday for me as Kelly's Dino dropped right out the back in the Ebor which was well annoyjng as really fancied it....
I am not sure it was such a high class performance. In another two yards, Laurens would have got up despite her Group 1 penalty. The winner had not run since the Guineas and may be a seven furlong horse (won the Free Handicap first time out) whilst she definitely wants a mile. It was an exciting finish – but that sort of head-to-head drive usually makes it exciting, especially when you have backed one of them! I expect her to follow the same route as last year: the Matron on Irish Champion Stakes day, the Sun Chariot at Newmarket and, if it is not too soft, the QEII on Champions Day to face the boys again.
